why draw, how to draw? - in a world where everyone can take photos with their cell phone, why still draw? - Is drawing an attempt to capture reality or is it a tool to comment on it? The lessons are an invitation for beginners and advanced learners to try out various practical techniques and discuss the results. When it comes to drawing, one of the biggest obstacles is letting go of self-criticism and just starting and working. We will deal precisely with this difficulty. We will learn through extraordinary exercises how to simply train the hands and at the same time suspend the critical mind. Later, we will focus on observing the drawings and try to understand the mystery of what works and what doesn't. Lessons are offered for both beginners and advanced learners. Let me know what you would like to improve about your work. what do you find interesting? all ages are welcome! My name is Oded, I am originally from Israel. After 6 years of studying, I completed my studies at the UdK in 2019. In recent years I have participated in several exhibitions and residency programs. My main artworks are films, watercolor paintings and comics. Teaching is a very important task for me.

My name is Fadi, a Palestinian raised in Dubai who has also lived in Palestine and Jordan. I specialize in teaching the Levantine Arabic variety. So, what is "Levantine"? It refers to the historic region of the Levant, which includes Palestine, Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, and the Hatay province of Turkey. Levantine Arabic is the spoken language of region—a "language variety" in linguistic terms. It is the language of daily life, workplaces, and professional settings across the Levant. It is only replaced by Modern Standard Arabic (MSA) in formal contexts like news broadcasts, political speeches, and religious sermons. Whether you're ordering hummus in Damascus, in a meeting in Beirut, or want to express solidarity, or seeking to connect with Arabic communities in Europe, you will use Levantine Arabic. A key advantage is its widespread understandability. Most Arabic speakers from other regions, like Yemen, Egypt, and Tunisia, understand Levantine Arabic, though the reverse is not always true. This makes it a powerful tool for communication across the entire Arab world. As the Levantine Arabic Wikipedia page states, it is "one of the two prestige varieties of spoken Arabic comprehensible all over the Arab world." In my teaching, I prioritize natural pronunciation and phonology. Arabic, including the Levantine variety, uses vowel changes to convey grammar, such as indicating gender. I find that dedicating significant time to sounds profoundly accelerates skill development. The good news is that Levantine grammar is far simpler and less demanding than MSA or Classical Arabic. You can learn to use it confidently in a short time, unlike MSA, which requires a large time investment for limited daily use. (Note: Classical Arabic remains essential for Quranic or Islamic studies). My students in Germany and Europe include binational children, adult learners, and heritage speakers seeking to connect with family and community. Many have successfully bonded with local Palestinian and Syrian communities. My method includes post-lesson voice recordings for reference and a free, custom-designed booklet covering grammar, phonology, and expressions. I adapt to visual or auditory learning preferences to craft the most efficient path to fluency. I primarily use a Latin transliteration system, but I also offer tutoring in reading and writing the Arabic script in the beautiful Naskh font, upon request.

I have different kind of lessons: 1. Face-to-face lessons of modern singing Modern singing: technique, improvisation and repertoire The face-to-face classes take place at a studio in Prenzlauer Berg and are mainly aimed at adults and teenagers who want to learn music. They have a duration of 50 minutes. In singing classes, breathing and vocal technique are worked through warm-up exercises, always with the aim of working the voice in a healthy and correct way. My classes are mainly focused on the repertoire of the student’s preferred style, which can be pop, soul, jazz, blues, bossa nova, tango and bolero, among others. Each style is worked differently and with the appropriate resources to lead to a good interpretation. Both for warm-up and repertoire I usually accompany the student on the piano. Depending on the style sometimes I may work with karaokes. I also teach a good use of the microphone, to fight stage panic and to enjoy a performance on stage. The singing lessons are aimed at people of any level, from beginners to advanced, even to someone who is preparing an exam for an upper grade of modern music. My main objective is above all that the student feels motivated, and not under pressure. For me it is very important that the student enjoys music and the music lessons. 2. Initiation to piano: modern harmony and auditory education The piano lessons are aimed primarily at beginners. My intention is mainly to prepare my piano students so that they can later develop a more advanced style with a teacher whose main instrument is the piano. For this, I start with basic exercises for a good hand technique and with simple songs so that the student learns to read music. For those who already have a basic level, I start directly with scales and chords, mostly focusing on teaching songs in modern harmony. The main objective is the motivation of the student, avoiding pressure. For me it is very important that the student enjoys music and the music lessons. 3. Modern singing on-line lessons Modern singing on-line classes: technique, improvisation and repertoire Like face-to-face classes, online lessons last 50 minutes. They are also aimed at adults and teenagers who want to learn music and find virtual classes more comfortable, for whatever reason. The lessons are given through a virtual meeting app, either Jitsi or Zoom. They are similar to those in the classroom, with the difference that a little more time is devoted to the repertoire than to the technique. I consider of great importance that the student enjoys the lessons also in this case and does not lose motivation.

In my ballet classes, we blend both classical and contemporary styles. If you're just starting out, we’ll cover the basics and build up from there. We’ll talk about how understanding alignment and flow is key to ballet technique, and I’ll help you get comfortable with the basic ballet terms. For more experienced dancers, we’ll meet you where you're at and work from there. We’ll focus on fine-tuning your technique and adding performance qualities to your practice. In all my classes, I make sure we go at a pace that feels right for you, with the goal of helping you grow and enjoy dance for the long haul.

I can guide your vocal training with technical and interpretative aspects of your favorite genre. The lessons are 45 minutes long. At the beginning we do some warm-up exercises and vocal techniques, then we will listen and learn from the repertoire we chose together to best improve your vocals. They must be songs that you like and that are challenging enough to excel your learning to the next level of difficulty. For children between 4 and 6 years old, the classes are 35 minutes long. Through games or small choreographies, I intend to reinforce their attention span while they develop their hearing, musical memory, intonation, and rhythm, working to make sure the classes are dynamic and fun.

I am an accomplished tutor with 12 years experience and a PhD in Linguistics. Teaching English is undoubtedly my vocation. My vast experience enables me to develop students' confidence, improve their spoken English and prepare them for the Cambridge English exams. My university majors were English Linguistics, Pedagogy and Psychology of High School. I am currently pursuing a BA in North American Studies at Free University of Berlin. Studies are extremely interesting and challenging, and I'm pleased to share with students materials from English courses and my knowledge of US history. During my English classes I focus on intensive language practice and speaking fluency. Firstly, we will pay attention to grammatical and lexical gaps, learn to analyze speech and use less "simple" words, that is, we will enlarge the vocabulary with proper synonyms (C1-C2 level). Besides, we will gradually introduce idioms into speech and use complex grammatical constructions. After and during each lesson I write down a lesson protocol in Google Docs, including all the material, texts, and proofreading. It goes without saying, I guarantee a responsible approach, frequency and intensity of lessons.

Hello everyone! I'm offering french lessons for students of all levels (private lessons, tutoring, preparation for exams). I'm a former literary student (have a master's in French literature), I'm 24 and just arrived in Berlin. Last year, I studied and taught at Yale University in the US, where I finished my master's thesis. I have experience with students but also with children (I was a private teacher for elementary school children in 2014) as well as with adults (I gave integration lessons to Refugees in Paris, FLE, from 2015 to 2017). I was born in Paris, did most of my studied there (before going to Italy and the US). In Paris I did my studies in La Sorbonne and l'École Normale Supérieure (ENS). I've always loved teaching and my experience as a private teacher, a lecturer, a tutor, really proved me that I want to become a professor. I've taught french literature as well as french language per se, and I enjoyed watching my students make quick progress in a lively atmosphere :) I loved the bond I managed to create with all of them: a serious, yet friendly relationship. Of course, every student is different, and that's why every lesson has to be: I take particular care in adapting myself to the needs, characters and ambitions of my students. See you soon ! Marc
