I am here for anybody wanting to learn or improve on the Saxophone or, but also offering introductory classes for beginners on the piano, flute or clarinet.
In one-to-one lessons I would like to show students different doors in music to jazz and popular music and convey excitement and joy in this complex and magical science. My emphasis is on sound, phrasing, music theory, rhythm and ear training and improvisation. The lessons are atmospherically relaxed and should stimulate personal interest. Above all, it is very dependent on the student, as I try to adapt to you individually in this regard, because music is a very subjective thing. Beginners as well as advanced learners of all ages are welcome!

About Me
I am half Australian and half German, so I speak both languages fluently. Due to living in Brazil for more than 6 months, I like to think of my Portuguese as pretty decent too!
My enthusiasm and openness towards any kind of music has always been very present since I grew up in a family full of classical musicians, my greatest passion was always towards Jazz and its related genres.
I am a friendly, modest and calm person and would like to keep a peaceful and positive atmosphere in my lessons.
Education
In 2019 I completed my bachelor degree in jazz saxophone at the University of Music and Performing Arts Mannheim. Currently I'm doing my master at the Jazz Institute, Berlin. I have been enjoying playing the saxophone for about 14 years and am very passionately on stage myself. With my own band projects I have already played at festivals such as the Jazzopen Stuttgart, Fusion Festival, Stimmen Festival Lörrach and legendary Montreux Jazz Festival. With an average of around 60 concerts per year, I have become quite experienced in the business over the years. I started teaching about five years ago, both privately and at music schools. It is very important to me to pass on my love for music and everything that goes with it and to convey the complexity and beauty in it to my students.

I have different kind of lessons:

1. Face-to-face lessons of modern singing

Modern singing: technique, improvisation and repertoire
The face-to-face classes take place at a studio in Prenzlauer Berg and are mainly aimed at adults and teenagers who want to learn music. They have a duration of 50 minutes.

In singing classes, breathing and vocal technique are worked through warm-up exercises, always with the aim of working the voice in a healthy and correct way. My classes are mainly focused on the repertoire of the student’s preferred style, which can be pop, soul, jazz, blues, bossa nova, tango and bolero, among others. Each style is worked differently and with the appropriate resources to lead to a good interpretation.

Both for warm-up and repertoire I usually accompany the student on the piano. Depending on the style sometimes I may work with karaokes. I also teach a good use of the microphone, to fight stage panic and to enjoy a performance on stage. The singing lessons are aimed at people of any level, from beginners to advanced, even to someone who is preparing an exam for an upper grade of modern music.

My main objective is above all that the student feels motivated, and not under pressure. For me it is very important that the student enjoys music and the music lessons.

2. Initiation to piano: modern harmony and auditory education

The piano lessons are aimed primarily at beginners. My intention is mainly to prepare my piano students so that they can later develop a more advanced style with a teacher whose main instrument is the piano. For this, I start with basic exercises for a good hand technique and with simple songs so that the student learns to read music. For those who already have a basic level, I start directly with scales and chords, mostly focusing on teaching songs in modern harmony. The main objective is the motivation of the student, avoiding pressure. For me it is very important that the student enjoys music and the music lessons.

3. Modern singing on-line lessons

Modern singing on-line classes: technique, improvisation and repertoire
Like face-to-face classes, online lessons last 50 minutes. They are also aimed at adults and teenagers who want to learn music and find virtual classes more comfortable, for whatever reason.

The lessons are given through a virtual meeting app, either Jitsi or Zoom. They are similar to those in the classroom, with the difference that a little more time is devoted to the repertoire than to the technique.

I consider of great importance that the student enjoys the lessons also in this case and does not lose motivation.

I started teaching piano by chance – to refugees. That's when I realized how powerful music can be in supporting people. Over the years, teaching has become something I truly cherish. I continue to work as an artist, and music and art remain my greatest passions. But the moments I share with my students have become just as meaningful. I've been able to build connections with people in ways I never expected, and I see this work as a way to contribute to a better world.
Most of my students are adults. Some played as children and are starting again, others are complete beginners; some are advanced and want to delve deeper. In lessons, we work not only on technique but also on musical understanding: reading what's "in" the score, developing interpretation, and experiencing music as a living language—not just as dots on a piece of paper. I also enjoy teaching children and accompanying their growth over a longer period. Seeing how music supports their development always moves me deeply.
Come by and see if it's right for you. If you're curious, just write to me. For me, music is a tool for self-development and connection.

Come to the piano at the same time, with people in refuge. Percebi like a music pode ser poderosa para judar as pessoas. When you pass the old ones, you can see how valuable it is in depth. Continuo trabalhando as artista, e musica e arte seguem sendo minhas maiores paixões. These moments are very significant. Consegui criar conexões com as pessoas de um jeito que eu nunca imaginei, e vejo esse trabalho as uma forma de contribuir para um mundo melhor.
A maioria dos meus alunos é adultsa. Alguns tocaram when children and is voltando, outros são iniciantes do zero; Alguns are already advanced and have a professional background. Ver como a musica apoia or desenvolvimento delas é semper emociónante.
Venha experimentar e ver se faz sentido para você. If you are curious, this is what I want to say. Para mim, a music and a ferramenta de autodesenvolvimento e conexão.

Playing the drums is both fun and very rewarding, but it also carries a significant amount of responsibility. The drummer is the backbone of any musical community, creating a vital foundation for the other instruments to thrive upon. With a wealth of exercises and content available online at your fingertips to study, I can offer you valuable, personalized advice on three key aspects: technique, time, and touch. I like to call them the 3Ts.

Technique: Playing the drums is physically demanding, requiring an awareness of proper posture to safely build the muscles needed to maintain a seamless flow of movement for hours on end.

Time: Keeping a steady pulse is the primary focus of being a drummer. We need to build up our confidence to consistently maintain the desired time, even under adverse conditions.

Touch: While presenting steady time, we need to open our awareness to make our beat feel good. It’s an attitude. It’s about being musical. This means using dynamics and personalizing our four limbs to create our own unique groove. This is where it gets deep.

I love teaching beginners. They usually can jump ahead quickly in a short time. There is no mystery. The way forward means dedicating a little (or a lot) of time daily to the drums. Even just 10 minutes a day can lead to significant improvements. That’s the secret.

I recommend using an intensive approach with the classes.

Beginners take 5 weeks of 60-minute classes to learn the basics and then continue working on your own, returning for follow-up “check-ups” as needed.
For intermediate-level students, I recommend a 90-minute class where I present a comprehensive overview, all tailored to your immediate needs. You then come back for more when the information has been digested.
For advanced-level students, the same. There is so much to cover that we can focus on very specific topics. Styles, the rudiments etc... I have a lot of experience with traditional jazz and the rudimental history behind the craft.

In the end, it's about creating time to connect with the drums every day. This connection is a wonderfully rewarding and grounding addition to our lives. I look forward to meeting and working with you.
