About me: I studied composition, electroacoustic music, music theory, and piano as my primary instrument at the conservatories in Leipzig and Vienna. I have extensive teaching experience, both as a tutor for university and college courses and as a workshop leader for various institutions and festivals, as well as years of experience in private instruction. I live and work as a freelance musician in Berlin-Kreuzberg.

I teach piano and keyboard skills with a friendly and encouraging approach. My students learn technical exercises and pieces/songs carefully chosen to suit each individual and I also incorporate relevant music theory. I teach on an upright acoustic piano at my place in Wedding and in some cases travel to the student for lessons.

The guitar is undoubtedly one of the most popular instruments of the modern age. It is so versatile and used in many genres ranging from classical music to Death Metal and even Electronic Music.

I will teach you the basics of playing the guitar, and I'll spice it up later with my experience in composition and songwriting. We will learn by example through the famous songs that shaped our understanding of the guitar. Whether you prefer singer-songwriter-style songs, or thrash metal we'll get there together.

I will teach mainly using the guitar tablature format, we can do sheet music which is generally unneeded for anything besides classical, but I will need to refresh my music sheet reading skills as I haven't had to read any in the last 10 years.

I am an experienced and enthusiastic guitar tutor from Leeds, England, living in Berlin. I have a bachelor’s degree in jazz guitar from Leeds College of Music although I also play and teach rock, pop, funk, folk, and indie music.

In lessons, I aim to get students to play something they know as soon as possible in order to get excited about progress early on. We balance this with paying attention to proper technique and having one eye on the theory behind what we are playing to broaden your understanding of how music works.

Clean technique is the foundation, but we play the music that
actually pulls you to the instrument. I have been teaching for
seven years and currently also teach at two Berlin music
schools.

A fixed weekly slot, 30, 45 or 60 minutes. A piano or a keyboard
at home is enough to start. Travel and preparation time are
included in the price.
