About Me

My greatest skill as a teacher is to translate your goals on the instrument into smaller, very reachable steps. It is important for me to work only with exercises that you can easily transfer to other topics that are also of interest to you. When the need for me as a teacher decreases along the way, I've done my job. I prefer to work with the songs that you like rather than working only with what is a logical next step on the instrument. Learning an instrument and music in general is about fun and I intend to remember you of that :)

Originally I started out on the drums and started teaching around 2008. With the start of my music studies in Freiburger I also began to teach guitar lessons and to cover musical topics in general. I've overseen bandworkshops and composition classes on public and private schools and I also worked as a coach for the KLONG project. Various bands (ANNA LU, Lola Funkt, The Rehats, Neuland) finally led to my Acoustic Solo Project.

Singer trained at the Schola Cantorum of Basel (from medieval chant to the 20th century), I offer a general singing course: basic vocal technique (posture, breath work, sound work), discovery of different repertoires (depending on the student's tastes; pop repertoires also possible), work on interpretation. In my career, my life is frozen, my Lust, my Motivation, and my Ratschläge, my life is erroneous. Even though the settings are individual and personal, the programs are different.

Since I have been teaching violin and music, not a day has gone by without me saying to myself that motivation and pleasure are the greatest drivers of learning. This is why I always favor a relaxed and work-friendly atmosphere during my classes. Technique is of course of great importance to me.

My primary focus is on creating a personal connection and approach to the chosen instruments and to music in general. Whether you're struggling with the basics, or want to take what you already know to the next level, I'll adapt our lessons to your needs and guide you through what you need to make it.

Trained in Classical and Early music, and having studied performance in harpsichord, organ, piano, classical and electric guitar, I've also studied chamber music composition and electroacoustic composition. A passionate learner myself, I have recently graduated with a Masters from the Hochschule für Musik Basel in Specialized Performance (Improvisation). These diverse experiences are necessarily integrated into what I teach and how.

In my theory classes we’ll look at the fundamentals of rhythm, pitch, solfège, intervals, key signatures, cadences, and other important groundwork whose rigorous study we can then apply to real-life examples of music, helping you acquire a sharper analytical ear.
