Hello! My name is Robert and I teach Dutch to expats who want to feel more confident speaking Dutch in everyday life and at work.

My lessons are practical, structured and relaxed. We focus on real communication, so you learn how Dutch people actually speak. Many of my students live and work in the Netherlands and want to improve their Dutch faster.

I enjoy helping students feel more comfortable using Dutch in real situations.

In my lessons we work on:
• speaking and pronunciation
• vocabulary and sentence structure
• grammar explained in a simple way
• understanding Dutch culture and communication

I use conversations, short texts and practical exercises so that students quickly gain confidence in speaking.

My lessons are suitable for:
• expats living in the Netherlands
• professionals who want to use Dutch at work
• students preparing for the inburgering exam
• learners who want to improve their speaking skills

Levels: A1 – A2 – B1 – B2 – C1

A typical lesson (60 minutes) includes:
• a short conversation
• explanation of new words or grammar
• speaking practice
• homework, exercises and feedback

Students usually speak a lot during the lesson, because speaking is the fastest way to improve a language.

Besides books, I also create my own teaching materials and articles, which makes the lessons more engaging and relevant to life in the Netherlands.

My name is Ieke and I teach Dutch as a second language to adults.
I teach in a flexible way and there is always a possibility to bring your own ideas. But first of all, we'll have an intake, so we can talk about your goals, expectations, way of learning and the methods/ books we can use.

We will work together to put your Dutch to a higher level. I will also give you homework which can contain several skills like watching Dutch tv, speaking with the neighbors, reading an article you're interested in and so on. Above all, I hope to make the lessons interesting, fun and informative.

A qualified language coach with 25 years of experience offers intensive Dutch lessons in a small class or online.

I give many Dutch NT2 lessons to expats and in preparation for an integration exam.
Specialized in guiding for the State Exam I and II. Special exam coach.

In January 2025 I will also start with groups again. We have a great classroom in the center of Rotterdam, near metro station Beurs, lessons with small homogeneous groups (little difference in level).

We mainly go for quality and not just running a lesson. I am really involved in the progress of the student. In addition to teaching, I want to do everything to really motivate students to take the next step. That is my strength!

You can also choose the online lesson package with Whereby, Teams or Zoom in a comfortable way. Online classes are one-on-one or maximum one-on-two, for better results.

My English is fluent, as well as Portuguese and Spanish. I understand the difficulties of overcoming barriers for Latin languages and for expats in general, as I have also been an expat.

Online lessons last 75 minutes once a week for 10 weeks to reach a higher level.

This is the normal speed. Including exam training (A-2 or Staatsexamen) and exam at the end.

Intensive training ? That can also be done in five to ten full days, I am used to giving these very intensive trainings to CEOs or managers who want it faster and more intensive ... all lessons within 3 or 4 weeks. Based on the European system A-1, A-2, B-1, B-2 and C-1

As soon as students want to further improve their knowledge of Dutch, I always advise and coach them to take the State Exam I or II, the only formal Certificate in this country, recognized by employers and universities.

I will try to switch to conversation after a few lessons, to put your knowledge into practice as soon as possible. Don't get too caught up in the grammar.

Teaching is my ultimate passion and even after 25 years it feels like the first time and students always feel inspired to overcome the obstacles.

I also teach you about Dutch social culture, which is intertwined in the course and is strongly related to the language.

I provide lessons for the Nt2 Staatsexamen and Dutch Nationalisation exam (Inburgering examen)and Business Dutch for ex-pats and people who want to learn everyday Dutch. In the citizenship exam course, students learn about history, geography and basic vocabulary which are the contents of the exam. They learn how to respond to basic questions. Besides preparatory lessons for (Inburgering examen ,citizenship exam ,I teach Business Dutch( Zakelijk Nederlands) to expats. Online lessons are delivered through Google meet and Ms Teams and other online platforms. The lessons are conducted online as well as at a location in The Hague. Both private and group lessons are available.

Hello! I’m Mahmood and I currently live in Gouda (South-Holland). I came to The Netherlands some time ago. As an Expat I know how tough it is to learn a new language, especially the Dutch language with its tough pronunciations and sentence structures. I am specialized in preparing Expats and other immigrants for the Basic Civil Integration Examination (Basisexamen Inburgering). I can also teach about the Dutch social culture and History of The Netherlands.

iii) Simplify instead of complicate
I am good at listening and understanding why students are having difficulties with certain issues. The thing in which I’m best is explaining complicated things in a simple way.

To live and reside in the Netherlands a certain level of Dutch is not only handy but also necessary if you want to have a job. As part of the process to become a Dutch national, you need a basic level of Dutch, being A1 to B2.

I am a certified Dutch teacher with 6 years of teaching experience. Besides teaching Dutch to Dutch high -school pupils in the years 1- 4 mavo/ havo/ vwo, I also have extensive experience teaching Dutch to expats/ foreigners.
I am therefore familiar with the “inburgeringsexamen” and the NT2 curriculum (Dutch for foreigners) for those who want to reside in the Netherlands.

You can contact me for extra German lessons at any level. This may include speaking, reading and writing skills, but also grammar, literary history or exam training.

I myself have a broad German education: MO-A, MO-B and doctoraal.
I have provided German lessons for the Scheidegger Institute, the Educational Center, in-company training and students of VCL The Hague.
In addition to German, I teach Dutch up to and including the level of secondary education and NT-2 to non-Dutch speakers.

I do not assume fixed teaching methods, but tailor the teaching material to you as an individual student as optimally as possible.
In doing so, I make good use of my knowledge from other courses: coaching, counseling, mediation and didactics.

As a retiree I can freely dispose of my time and therefore I am flexible in terms of dates and class times.
In principle, a lesson lasts one clock hour. This can be extended if desired.
I can always be contacted for interim questions.

Finally, I can mention that I am a 'stacker' myself, who from the age of 21 to 55 did all his studies in the evenings in addition to a full-time job.

I have worked as a remedial teacher in primary education for the past three years. I have helped students individually or in small groups with reading, spelling and arithmetic. I know the learning objectives and the reading comprehension method. I use the Kernvisie method, among other things, to strengthen the basics of reading, spelling and arithmetic. Think of: the alphabet, counting, sums up to 20, tables, spelling rules. The basics are so important!
