I like to use different methods to teach French to students. It can be through songs, drama, role play or videos. I also very often use situations close to the student's experience, such as describing places they have been or talking about what they have experienced. At the same time, I teach the grammar rules to the student. I now live in regions where French has been spoken for over 30 years. It depends on the age of the person I'm teaching, but I would switch between reading, listening and talking exercises. A small text would have to be written for the next hour, so we can go through it together. Obviously I am very spontaneous and able to switch my program, so every individual person is learning at their perfect level.
