Welcome! I am Ischico, a piano teacher and concert pianist. For over ten years, I have been teaching children, teenagers, and adults with great love. Whether you are just starting out, want to get more enjoyment out of the piano, deepen your musicality, refine your technique, or learn to improvise: whatever your level, I would be happy to help you.

My lessons are completely tailored. Every student is unique, and together we discover how you can achieve your goals. Every year, I organize various performance opportunities for my students: enjoyable group lessons and a performance evening. In addition, I work with my students each year towards their own accessible exam opportunity — with goals that we determine together. Do you also want an official diploma? Then you can work towards an EPTA exam under my guidance.

Do you want to work towards an audition for a young talent class, preparatory course, or the conservatory? I do that with great pleasure as well.

I teach lessons in my piano studio at the NDSM Wharf in Amsterdam North, on a beautiful Yamaha grand piano. I have completed two Master's degrees at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and the Conservatori del Liceu in Barcelona.

About Me

It is important to me that my students always remain motivated during piano lessons. This allows them to progress quickly with great pleasure. The focus in the lesson is on many different aspects of building piano skills. This will always vary what is most important to work on for each individual at the time.

I myself am classically trained and have obtained two master's degrees at prestigious institutes abroad. I have always enjoyed teaching during these masters. Thanks to my extensive experience, I can estimate what a student needs during the lesson to be able to move forward again.

Outside of teaching, I regularly give concerts with my own composed music or in settings with other musicians.

Bass guitar lessons with a holistic, "all-round" character.

We will practice the lessons together and we will use your best songs for this. I believe that if you have deep emotional contact with a piece of music, the learning process will also become faster, cozier and smoother!

Hello! My name is Aurel and I am a French Amsterdam-based drummer.

Although currently specialized in Jazz music, I have studied various esthetics, and Pop and Rock music, in particular, are part of my background (I played in several pop-rock bands). Therefore I am able to teach a broad panel of music styles. I also have many drum methods and charts at my disposal, and have experience in teaching children from the age of 6, as well as teenagers and adults.

Lessons and teaching method:
I always adapt to the student's tastes and learning profiles. This is why, during the first lesson, and on a regular basis afterwards, I always take time to discuss with my students (or their parents if they are very young) to figure out together the path they want or need to follow. I will use charts and methods for those who need visual support to assimilate the skills or teach by ear and by demonstrating to the ones who feel more comfortable this way. I also play electric guitar and can jam with my students, which is a great tool for developing band playing skills or simply to have a good time.

For those eager to make significant progress, I offer consistent and serious monitoring, with practice recommendations. I can for instance prepare a student for an audition or an entrance exam in a conservatory. If you are willing to improve your understanding of rhythm in general, you can also benefit from my knowledge of Indian Karnatic rhythm concepts, one of the most complete traditional approaches to rhythm.

About me:
In addition to my jazz drums bachelor and master degrees from the conservatory of Amsterdam (CvA), which included a thorough pedagogical training and a specialization in Indian Karnatic techniques, I benefit from 4 years of experience as an employed drum teacher in two French associative music schools (Ecole de musique de Nangis and Conservatoire des Deux Rives, Moret-sur-Loing).

I am also an active musician, both on the Dutch and the French scene. My trio mainly tours in France and has played at venues such as the Sunside (Paris), or participated in competitions like the Keep An Eye International Jazz Award. I am also the co-leader of the sextet Chai Masters, finalist of several European competitions (Leiden Jazz Award, Golden Jazz Trophy in Lille, France, 7 Virtual Jazz Contest). Recently, the band was part of Keep An Eye The Records's finalists (March 2022). Its first album "Magic Realism" received critical acclaim in France, Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands.

My teaching method developed during 20 years of experience and thanks to my studies of Music Pedagogy and Piano Teaching during my Master's in Piano at Livorno's Conservatory.
I am currently a piano teacher in a British School and I prepared several students for ABRSM and Trinity College exams.
As a private piano teacher, I work preferably in my studio, on a beautiful grand piano Yamaha, but, if not too far, I am also available for lessons at the student's house.

My teaching is adapted to the skills and goals of each student. With beginning children, I aim at full musical development of the student (not just playing notes, but feeling the rhythm, singing, and expressing emotions through free improvisation); technically I don't work only at the finger position, but at the organic interaction arm-wrist-fingers, through simple exercises.
With adult or advanced students, I observe them, to suggest which type of repertory to work together, and which aspects of the technique might still need improvement.
I teach classically, through the learning of notes, harmony, and written music, but I teach also how to play songs with only chord symbols, and blues improvisation at a basic level.

Both with children and adults I aim at creating a joyful experience during the lesson, in which focus is gained in a playful way, finding each time the best practicing solutions to technical and musical difficulties. In this way, practicing at home becomes not another heavy duty to add to an already busy schedule, but repeating a creative, searching experience, that is never the same.

Books: the use of a method is often suggested in the first years. Later I advice classical pieces to be studied. Also, Pop or Rock songs that the student would like to perform are well accepted, if I think the student can play them.

I am a PPLE Bachelor student who graduated from the Geneva Conservatory in 2024 (with honors). As part of my studies at the Conservatory, I took courses in piano pedagogy and earned a certificate in music theory and analysis. I was also a member of two orchestras and performed chamber music. I am particularly skilled in classical music, chanson, pop, and film music.
