If you have a piano at home and do not how to play it (or want to improve) my class is perfect for you!

Performing music is one of best ways of self-expression. In my class, I offer specialized training in classical piano, which also covers music theory as well as technique. I want my students to learn about the music they are studying and be able to mirror that knowledge to who they are as a person through their own interpretations and opinions.

I encourage my students into discussions and conversations about music and their everyday lives, as I believe music is not only performed but also lived through. Music is an expression of yourself and your own personal anecdotes and can be highly individual, even though the sheet music has been written and is the same for everyone.

I assign practice goals and repertoire after lessons, based on the students' progress. Each student has a specifically designed curriculum which suits them the best.

About Me
My name is Fran Farkaš and I am a pianist from Croatia studying in Amsterdam. Before moving to Amsterdam, I studied with many great professors and pianists in Croatia. One of them was Aljoša Jurinić, a Chopin competition finalist in 2016. I would love to teach young pianists the things I learned so far. I am focused on classical piano, but have experience with other genres and improvisation. I am ready to teach students of all ages and levels.

I personally believe music should be available to everyone, not only as listeners but also as performers and that everyone is able to feel through music. This is why I would love to be a piano teacher in Amsterdam.
Education
Currently studying at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. Finished High School Music Education in Zagreb, at Croatia's biggest and most prestigious music school.

Hi! I’m Didac Barber, a professional concert pianist and experienced teacher from Spain, now based in the Netherlands.

I hold a Master’s in Piano Performance from The Hartt School (USA) and trained at ESMUC Barcelona, studying with top international pianists like Adolf Pla and Luiz de Moura Castro. I’ve performed across Europe, the U.S., and Asia, and have taught piano for over 15 years — in conservatories, private studios, and internationally online.

My passion lies not only in performance but in helping students discover what they are capable of. I’m dedicated, empathetic, and patient — and I want you to enjoy your learning journey as much as I do sharing it.

Each student is different, and so are my lessons.
Whether you're just starting out or already preparing for auditions or performances, I’ll adapt the lesson to your goals, challenges, and musical taste.

We can work, all in a way that feels personal and motivating, on:
* Technique and sound production
* Repertoire (classical, contemporary, film music, etc.)
* Musical expression and interpretation
* Performance preparation (concerts, exams, auditions)
* Practice strategies and confidence-building

I’m here to help you be the best pianist you can be, whether that means mastering Bach or finally playing your favorite piece with confidence.

Lessons are at students home or online, and taught in English, Spanish, or Catalan, unfortunately not in Dutch for now.

Feel free to message me if you have any questions. I’d love to hear about your musical goals and help you reach them.
Let’s make music together!

I teach cello to students of all ages and levels: from complete beginners to those preparing for conservatory auditions. My goal is to build your technique and musicality together, step by step, so that you're always challenged but never overwhelmed.

A typical lesson works on a mix of technique (posture, bow control, tone production), repertoire suited to your level and taste, and — if you want it — music theory and sight-reading. I'll set clear short-term goals with you each lesson and check in regularly on your progress, so you always know what you're working toward and why.

I have experience teaching students with dyslexia and ADHD, and I adjust my pacing and explanations so lessons stay clear and comfortable rather than stressful. If you're an absolute beginner, don't worry — I've taught people who've never held a cello before, and we start exactly where you are.

A bit about my background: I hold a Master of Music from the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, where I studied under Ella van Poucke, and I graduated cum laude from the Conservatory and University of Thessaloniki. With my quartet, I won First Prize and the Young Jury Prize at the Storioni Festival Competition 2026, and I've performed at venues including Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Muziekgebouw Amsterdam, and Muziekgebouw Eindhoven.

Lessons can be in English, Dutch, German, or Greek, in Amsterdam or online. Get in touch and tell me a bit about your goals — I'll tailor our first lesson around them.

If you’re interested, feel free to contact me with any questions.

Rather than a fixed curriculum, I build a custom syllabus for each student based on their needs, goals, and current level. In designing lessons, I draw on my own experience both as a self-taught musician and as an academically trained one — combining structured, conservatory-level methods with the flexibility that comes from having found my own way into this field first.

Lessons are shaped in pace and format to what actually works for the student in front of me — whether that means working note-by-note through an audition piece, or building broader theoretical fluency over a longer stretch of time.
