About Me

i’m 22 years old and originally from Portugal. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Jazz Guitar from ESMAE in Porto, and I’m currently studying at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam.

Jazz guitar is my main area of interest, but I also enjoy exploring different styles and approaches to the instrument. I’m particularly interested in improvisation, harmony, rhythm, and developing a strong musical understanding of the guitar.

In my lessons, I adapt to each student’s level and goals, whether you’re just starting out or already have some experience. I like to keep lessons practical and relaxed, while working on both technique and musicality.

Education

I started playing the electric guitar at 15, studying at Garage and Stage before focusing on jazz. In 2022, i joined ESMAE, where I studied with Eurico Costa, Jeffrey Davis, and Marcos Cavaleiro. I participated in competitions such as the Aveiro Competition and Concurso Jovens Músicos and was part of the Combo Esmae Jazz Ensemble. Currently, i am doing a masters degree in the conservatorium van amsterdam.

Hi, I'm Nikola, Your Teacher.
I wasn’t born with a gift.
At five years old, I picked up an accordion that was almost bigger than me. I didn’t know it then, but that single moment would shape the rest of my life.

Since that day, I’ve dedicated over two decades to mastering this beautiful, misunderstood instrument. Hello! My name is Jade. I’m an undergraduate student and have been playing the piano for 15 years; I graduated from the Geneva Conservatory.

In my lessons, I focus on practice and improving technique. Although I have prepared lessons and pieces, I give my students a great deal of freedom in choosing their sheet music, the intensity of their lessons, and the type of instruction they need. I see the piano as a passion and, above all, an art form which, as such, shouldn’t become a source of stress or frustration. We’ll make progress through small successes and can explore a variety of genres, from classical music to songs, pop, and even film scores.

My priorities are for students to learn the notes and develop the ability to read sheet music easily, as well as rhythm and interpretation.
We can complement this approach with training in musical ear and singing, as well as the basics of music analysis.
