Is that old violin in the basement gathering dust? Have you always dreamed of picking up the fiddle? Do you want to explore new ways to make music, impress your family at the holiday party, or gain a cool new hobby to replace Netflix and doomscrolling (don't worry, we've all been there...)?!

Time to take violin lessons! I have been playing violin for 17 years and teaching professionally for 5 years. I am classically trained, but like to dabble in Old Time fiddle! I received my undergraduate degree in violin performance, with a minor in violin pedagogy, from Lawrence Conservatory in Appleton, WI and graduated summa cum laude. I have also received teacher training in the Suzuki violin method for units 1 and 2. I specialize in teenage and adult beginners, but I also have experience teaching a wide variety of students!

My teaching philosophy: music is for everyone! I want violin learning to be fun. Yes, we practice scales and etudes, but we also improvise, learn to express yourself through your instrument, and focus on the music YOU want to learn. Bach and Mozart? We can do that! Fiddle tunes? Let's do it! Your favorite pop song? We'll make it happen! Let's bring the PLAY back into playing music :).
Extra information
Bring your own instrument. Length of lesson is dependent on skill level and goals of student.

About Me
I have been playing the violin for 17 years, and love it more and more every day! I believe strongly that music is for EVERYONE, and learning the violin should be fun! Yes, we practice our scales and etudes... but we also improvise, PLAY, and focus on the music YOU want to learn!

I specialize in teaching adult beginners - I believe so strongly that being bad at something (at first!) as an adult is so GOOD for us, and makes the journey all the more rewarding! I also have experience teaching a wide variety of students, and am ready to meet you where you're at! I am classically trained, but I love to dabble in Old Time fiddle. Want to learn Mozart and Bach? Totally! Try some fiddling? Let's do it! Learn to play your favorite pop songs? Let's explore together!

My home studio also has a resident cat named Mr. Goobie. He is adorable, but terrified of the loud violin, so sometimes he hides in the closet. He loves to say hello to guests, though!
