At the same time, they will explore important art movements, styles, and artists from different cultures and historical periods. The course encourages students to think critically about what art means, how it is created, and how it reflects the world around us. Lessons include discussions, visual analysis, and short readings to help students understand how art connects to ideas like identity, culture, and history. Students are guided to express their own thoughts and experiences through their artwork, while also learning to describe and reflect on the work of others. By the end of the course, they will have built a small portfolio and gained greater confidence in both making and understanding visual art. The class can be conducted in English or French.
