I graduated from Conservatorium Maastricht in 2022, where I had the opportunity to study with Maestro Igor Roma, and Maestro Jeroen Riemsdijk. Throughout my studies I also gained a comprehensive knowledge of music theory, harmony, counterpoint, ear-training, musical forms and music history. I have extensive competition and performance experience with a varied repertoire, from Baroque to Neo-Classical period. I can help you prepare for an upcoming competition, recital or entrance exam. My teaching methods are adaptive to the student's specific needs, so that we can work on improving them. We will work on improving sight-reading, memorisation and basic improvisation. I work with my students to develop their sense of musical phrasing, engage my students in discussions about the music we are playing and more importantly the composer's intent. For specific piano techniques we can work on finger strength, arm-weight, precise control in dynamics and articulation, clarity in fast playing, releasing tension from the body. Frank is a very good teacher. My son has trouble with French grammar, and with Frank’s help, I already ( in 3 lessons) notice an improvement in my son’s French. He brings materials to help understand better, and even stayed for extra time to finish all that he needed to explain. He’s very dedicated and organized. I have taken a total of 5 classes with Ilie and had such a wonderful experience. He is always prepared with homework and class material to present. The lessons are fun and engaging and I feel like my level of Spanish has progressed very rapidly in just these 2.5 weeks.
