With 20 years of experience as a private tutor, I will strive to ensure that you gain a better understanding and a deeper appreciation of the Spanish language. I provide extra support for those studying towards a teaching qualification such as GCSE or A level. The lessons are also for adult learners who want to develop their own language skills either in preparation for a holiday in a Spanish speaking country or for work purposes. I enjoy teaching Spanish at various levels as it allows me to develop my teaching approach as well as get to know different people and exchange views about Spanish language and culture. My approach involves structured learning and I prepare lessons that are tailored according to each student’s purpose and skills. All material will be provided and I make the lessons dynamic and interactive so you are always interested in learning more. Homework assignments will be given every week and I will monitor and review your progress. As everyone has unique needs and a certain pace, I will adapt my lessons accordingly. I teach Spanish, oral expression and comprehension, Spanish vocabulary and written comprehension, Spanish for GCSE, A level, adult education, A1, A2, B1, B2 (beginner, intermediate and upper-intermediate).

Trusted teacher: I am a recent graduate from Oxford University where I gained and integrated Masters in Biochemistry. Throughout my degree I studied molecular biology and organic chemistry as well as both pure and applied mathematics. I chose to specialise in Developmental Biology and Immunology for my masters but am passionate about all things science! Whilst at University I began my own tutoring business and have successful experience with both GCSE and A Level students in a range of subjects and abilities. I try to make lessons fun as well as educational and encourage the students to tackle questions outside of their comfort zone by giving them confidence in their knowledge and ability. I often use ‘real world’ examples to explain concepts in order to aid memorisation of key information that the student can then remember more easily in the exam. I have found that this is a particularly successful technique because it is more a more interesting way of learning the key exam content and my previous students engage well. For A level students especially I like to be able to answer the questions I remember my teachers often didn’t have time to explain in lessons – Why does this happen? Are these two processes linked? How is this used in real life? – and as an Oxford graduate I know these are the kind of questions that may be asked in university interviews or seminars. I think it is important to get students at higher levels asking these questions and in my tutorials I aim to answer any the students have as I feel this adds context and aids memorisation of content. I also have experience teaching English as a foreign language as I worked in China as a teacher for Summer 2018. I lead English classes as well as activity based lessons on environmental protection and climate change.

Angélique is an amazing teacher, I have been having lessons with her for the last couple of years. One of her strongest assets is that she pays attention to the needs of each individual student. For myself, I was interested to improve my oral skills, communication and vocabulary (alongside learning the necessary grammar) and I have seen such an improvement. Lessons are nicely structured and with a variation of activities, again paying attention to the needs of the student. Angélique is also really good with the communication. Lessons are always pleasant and enjoyable, which can make a difference in student's motivation. I wish I had more teachers with such positive attitude and motivation when I was younger.

Superb experience with Raef. I asked for his help to prepare a math assessment test with an enormous lack of basis but he accepted the challenge. I found out a nice teacher who is not afraid of explaining and repeating if necessary. I did enjoy his method with the whiteboard, it feels like you are in the same place and can interact on the same exercise. Either in English or french he will certainly be able to help you. He is super kind and flexible, I definitively recommend his services.
