In classes (held both online and offline with safety precautions in place) I focus on each student’s individual needs and on bringing out their full potential in playing bass guitar, double bass, jazz improvisation, and composition. Individual lesson plans are created to best suit the aims of the student. I have worked as an educator for 9 years and have taught one to one lessons as well as leading popular group masterclasses in jazz performance and composition. My students have ranged from absolute beginners to advanced players. ---- Bio: Hayden is a classically trained bass player, composer, and sound artist from the UK, currently based in Berlin. His background in jazz improvisation, an interest in the space between strains of acoustic and electronic music, and attentiveness to composition acts as a connecting thread in his multiple artistic projects. Besides leading the critically acclaimed quartet Tether, Hayden also performs with his solo electroacoustic project, has worked as a touring musician for many years, and recorded on numerous albums. He also works as a sound designer for advertising, theater, and film. He holds a degree in jazz performance and composition and has been taught by some of the greatest living bass players in the world, including Drew Gress and Chris Lightcap.

I've been teaching (young) adults in various urban styles for over 14 years, including hip hop, locking, popping, breaking, and house. I adapt my lessons to your existing level. So I train with beginners the basics such as: Isolation, weight shifting, basic rhythm and coordination with the help of various Foundation Steps. As we progress, we then devote ourselves to topics such as quality of movement, (more complex) musicality and performance. A single lesson consists of first warming up together (warm up varies, depending on the level) in order to prepare the body for the training and to improve the condition in the long term. Then we stretch to minimize the risk of injury and improve your mobility in the long term. Of course, we devote most of the time to dancing. We can focus on learning individual basic steps, my choreographies or even freestyle. I individually address your strengths and weaknesses, your goals and wishes and create a training program that is tailored to you. My goal is to support you in such a way that you make noticeable progress in the long term. Bhangra and bollywood classes for Beginners and intermediate (Berlin)

I had 5 sessions with Paurush, and he designed a beautiful choreography on a bollywood song during this time. The dance steps included Bollywood, Bhangra and a bit of hip hop too. I enjoyed all the sessions and got a good feeling of accomplishment after learning the choreography.
