Piano Lessons for Children & Adults in Bebek | English or Turkish | ABRSM & LCME

Piano Lessons for Children & Adults in Bebek | English or Turkish | ABRSM & LCME

Piano Lessons in Bebek, Istanbul – Children & Adults With 15 years of teaching experience, I offer individual piano lessons for children from age 3, as well as teenagers and adults, at Poco Piano, a boutique music studio located in Bebek, Istanbul. Lessons are individually planned according to each student's age, level, learning pace and musical goals. My approach combines classical piano training with music theory, sight-reading, ear training and musicianship, creating a strong musical foundation rather than focusing only on learning individual pieces. For young beginners (ages 3–6), lessons are adapted to the child's attention span and developmental stage. The first goal is to build a positive relationship with the instrument and teacher while gradually introducing rhythm, pitch, keyboard orientation and basic musical concepts. For school-age students, teenagers and adults, lessons may include classical repertoire, technique, sight-reading, music theory and preparation for internationally recognised music examinations. ABRSM & LCME Exam Preparation I provide preparation for ABRSM and London College of Music (LCME) practical and theory examinations. Lessons can include repertoire preparation, technical work, sight-reading, aural skills and music theory according to the student's level and examination requirements. Conservatory & Music Theory Support Academic support is also available for students who need help with solfège, music theory, harmony or conservatory-related coursework. Practical Information All prices listed for lessons at Poco Piano include VAT (Value Added Tax), and lessons take place at our studio in Bebek, Istanbul. Home/private lessons can also be arranged upon request. These lessons are scheduled and priced separately depending on location and availability. Poco Piano offers: • Piano lessons from age 3 for children, teenagers and adults • Classical guitar lessons from age 8 • Beginner ukulele lessons from age 5 • ABRSM & LCME practical and theory exam preparation • Music theory, solfège and harmony support • Conservatory preparation and academic music support • Lessons in Turkish or entirely in English • Online music theory and exam-preparation lessons • An annual studio concert, giving students the opportunity to perform in front of an audience New students may attend a short complimentary introductory session before registration. This session is designed to meet the teacher, discuss the student's goals and determine the most appropriate lesson programme and duration. Regular lessons are individually planned according to the student's age, level and musical goals.

Personalized piano lessons – playing, understanding and discovering music (piano, music theory, written or practical harmony...)

Personalized piano lessons – playing, understanding and discovering music (piano, music theory, written or practical harmony...)

As a piano teacher and accompanist, I give lessons to students of all ages and levels, from beginner to advanced. Having grown up in a family of musicians, I started playing piano at the age of 5 in the Parisian conservatories of Aubervilliers, Paris and Saint-Maur-des-Fossés. I then continued my studies at the Lausanne University of Music, where I obtained my Bachelor's degree before enrolling in a Master's program in accompaniment. My work as a musician is now very varied: I accompany singers, instrumentalists, and choirs, and participate in opera, orchestral, and chamber music projects. This experience allows me to explore a wide range of repertoires and work with musicians of very different backgrounds. I have been teaching piano for several years, both in music schools and privately, and I have also helped students prepare for exams and competitions. What I enjoy most about teaching is sharing both the joy of playing and the curiosity to understand music. Since each student has their own desires, pace, and goals, I adapt the course content to each individual. Depending on their needs, we can work on a piece, develop technique, improve sight-reading, or prepare for an exam, all while gradually building a solid foundation. I aim to offer a comprehensive learning experience, combining piano practice with reading music, ear training, music theory, and an understanding of what is being played. I also place great importance on discovering composers, styles, and repertoires, in order to develop curiosity and musical sensitivity. The repertoire can be very varied, depending on individual tastes: classical music, film scores, songs, or contemporary music. The goal is to find pieces that inspire practice while allowing for progress. I pay particular attention to building solid foundations while preserving the pleasure of playing and discovering, with the aim of gradually making them autonomous in their musical practice. I can also accompany conservatory or music school students in solfège and harmony, addressing both theoretical aspects and their practical application, up to the preparation of exams or competitions.

Piano: Free your playing from tension, pain, and blockages

Piano: Free your playing from tension, pain, and blockages

You play the piano but something prevents you from being completely free? Tensioned shoulders, strained forearms, painful wrists, rapid fatigue, passages that get stuck despite hours of work... Or simply that feeling of having to force yourself to play. That's precisely where my work begins. I offer you personalized work to understand what, in your way of playing, creates tension, fatigue or blockages and to gradually regain a more natural, freer and more efficient movement. As a student of Monique Deschaussées, I was deeply influenced by her approach to the body at the piano: posture, breathing, use of weight, support, freedom of movement and search for natural movement. This approach informs my own work as a concert pianist: I give more than 150 concerts a year, mainly recitals, in extremely varied repertoires. Physical freedom is therefore not a theoretical concept for me: it is at the heart of my daily performance practice. Depending on your needs, we can work: — tensions, friction and blockages in the game — posture, support, weight and freedom of movement — technically difficult passages — sound and touch — piano technique — musical interpretation and construction — working methods and autonomy — memorization and stage preparation We work from your playing style, your body, and your repertoire. I don't offer a one-size-fits-all method. Classical, pop, rock, film music: my repertoire is particularly vast and I insist that the technique always remains at the service of the music you wish to hear. You tell me about your background, the difficulty you are facing, and what you want to change. Together, we determine if my approach meets your needs and what form of work would be most appropriate. If your issue is suitable, I can also offer you more in-depth, personalized support. Because playing the piano shouldn't be a struggle against your own body.

Bring Out Your Musicality: Conservatorium van Amsterdam Master's Pianist, 5+ Years Teaching All Ages and Levels

Bring Out Your Musicality: Conservatorium van Amsterdam Master's Pianist, 5+ Years Teaching All Ages and Levels

Every student's musical journey is different, and your lessons should be too. With more than 5 years of experience teaching piano to students of all levels (from complete beginners to advancing conservatory-track students and retired adults rediscovering music) lessons are built around your goals, pace and interests. Whether you're picking up the piano for the first time, preparing for conservatory entrance exams, or returning to the instrument after years away, each student finds a plan tailored to where they are and where they want to go. The first lesson is about getting to know each other: understanding your current level, your goals, and what excites you musically, so a clear and realistic plan can be built from day one. From there, practice is kept structured and achievable; with concrete, doable goals between lessons, as well as different tools and materials provided along the way. Lessons can take place at my home or, if preferred, at your own address. As a teacher, I try to stay flexible to what my students want to explore: I find pupils are often passionate about all kinds of genres, and while my own training is classical, I'm just as happy helping a student work on jazz standards and improvisation if that's what excites them, alongside more traditional repertoire. Piano lessons, all levels. Pianist graduated from the Sibelius Academy/Helsinki and HEMU/Lausanne, currently in his second year of a Master's program at HEM/Geneva.

Starting out, resuming, progressing, preparing for a competition or exam, strengthening your practice or simply better understanding how to work: I offer support tailored to your project, in order to gradually make you autonomous in your practice. I therefore tailor the learning experience to your individual needs, preferences, tastes, and learning style, with appropriate expectations. I teach all levels, from complete beginners to advanced students. Conceiving of the courses as a space for exploration, listening and research, I am particularly keen that this dialogue remains lively and joyful, with kindness, curiosity and above all the pleasure of playing. The repertoire ranges from Baroque to contemporary, while remaining open to individual suggestions. I pay close attention to my students' progress and am available between lessons when needed to support their work. I help you build and/or consolidate a solid technical foundation. Furthermore, music theory and solfège are directly integrated into practice, in order to understand what you are playing and to learn how to work with a score. I guide my students in understanding the style of the works and in the search for their own musical personalities. My Master's thesis, dedicated to metacognition, extends this reflection on how we learn and on the means of learning, particularly to optimize memorization. Many other aspects can naturally be added depending on each individual, each repertoire and each project.
