Cello classes for all levels (beginner, intermediate and advanced), it does not matter if you have never played cello before or if you are already studying, the important thing is to help you achieve the goals you want with this beautiful instrument. Looking to grow as a guitarist and musician? Whether you’re starting out, or stuck beneath a musical “glass ceiling”, I offer fully personalized lessons mainly for intermediate but also to beginner level guitarists. I will be happy to discuss your or your child's needs and craft a course with you! If you’re an intermediate player, here’s the steps: - We’ll find out your level and current blocking points ⚠️ - We’ll carve a path together, targeting your weak spots (do you miss scales? modes? extended chords? arrangement theory? melodic development? and countless more) - We’ll create material together, based on your ideas or ideas that I will provide you ✏️ - You’ll become an all-around player that can create ideas, express them clearly, and elaborate them tastefully, while improvising in real-time. 🤘 If you’re a beginner player of any age: - We’ll figure out your vision (what do you listen to, and what would you like to sound like) - We’ll start with basic but engaging material, so that you reach base musicality as fast as possible. You’d be surprised how creative you can become with a couple of constraints and a bit of engagement! - We’ll slowly introduce the theory that sits behind your vision, the material, and your playing - You’ll develop intuition on the instrument and fluid playing in your preferred genre: The world is now your oyster 🤘

As a dedicated and experienced teacher with a Master's Degree in Piano Performance and Pedagogy, I take teaching seriously and am committed to providing effective lessons tailored to each student. I offer different approaches to suit the individual needs and goals of every student. Playing an instrument should be a delightful experience and that's exactly what my lessons are all about! PRE-SCHOOL CHILDREN (3+) Are you a parent eager to introduce your little one to the wonderful world of music? My lessons are designed to be playful and engaging. Using specially adapted piano books, I'll guide your child through an exciting musical adventure, complete with stories and new songs to learn. We'll explore music through singing, movement, and rhythm, helping your child develop a deep and lasting love for music. SCHOOL-AGED CHILDREN The lessons are more than just learning songs. Children will explore a piano book filled with stories, characters, engaging music, and games. Depending on preferences we can dive into playing music with accompaniment recordings, which allows children to immerse themselves in a complete musical experience. Theory learning is included. TEENAGERS Are you looking for a piano teacher who will encourage and support your teenager's passion for music? I offer an accelerated piano book specifically designed for this age group, allowing your child to progress quickly in their piano skills. If your child already has experience in playing the piano, I build on their existing knowledge and continue to expand their skills and creativity. I understand that every student has their own goals, whether it's playing for fun or aspiring to be a professional musician. That's why I adapt my lessons to fit your child's intentions. By offering a variety of musical pieces for them to choose from, and being open to their suggestions, I believe that playing a piece they enjoy is more effective in keeping them motivated. ADULTS Are you worried that you're too old to start learning the piano? Don't be! It's never too late to pick up a new skill, and as an adult, you have unique advantages over children when it comes to learning music. You have greater focus, a better grasp of music theory, and a strong motivation to succeed. Do you have a favorite song that you've always wanted to play but thought it was too difficult? There are plenty of classical and popular melodies that have been arranged for beginners, so you can start playing them right away. I'll also recommend a piano book specifically designed for adult learners, which will help you build up your skills at a comfortable pace.

Welcome to my piano teaching studio! I am a professional pianist offering private piano and theory lessons for students of all levels. As a pianist with over 14 years of teaching experience in Europe and the USA, as well as over 23 years of playing/performing, I enjoy motivating my students with music of their own preferred style and interest, whether that be classical or contemporary. My main goal is to promote a positive experience and love for music-making during the learning process. If the student is interested in a more structured approach, I guide preparation for grades 1-8 of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) piano and music theory exams where my students consistently receive highest marks. I also have successful experience preparing students for conservatory entrance auditions, masterclasses, and competitions in the Europe, the USA, India, and Canada. We have class concerts at Pianos Maene for interested students twice per year. I am happy to provide either a more relaxed or a serious approach to learning piano, we simply need to discuss the personal goals and preferences of each student. My own studies are as follows: I have obtained two postgraduate performance degrees at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp: "Concertsoloist" in Piano Performance and "Chamber Music” (under the guidance of esteemed professor Sergei Edelmann). Prior to this, I received my Bachelor and Masters degrees in Piano Performance/Music from the University of Minnesota - Minneapolis (with Prof. Lydia Artymiw) and Texas Christian University, Fort Worth (with Dr. Tamas Ungar). My experience includes collaboration with many different instrumentalists and singers, performing as a soloist and collaborative member in several orchestras, and receiving top prizes in several competitions. While maintaining my performance and recording career in Belgium at present, I am developing my private music studio in central Antwerp and look forward to meeting new students.

Do you have trouble reading music? Do you love listening to music, but don't understand time signatures, keys or chords? Music theory often sounds abstract, but with the right explanation and concrete examples it suddenly becomes a lot more logical, and even fun :) For whom? - Beginner or advanced musicians who want to better understand what they are doing. - Students preparing for music theory exams (e.g. music school, entrance exams). - Independent artists/producers who want to deepen their musical knowledge. - Anyone who is curious about the language behind music. What can you expect? - Clear explanation, at your own pace. - Theory made immediately applicable with examples on the piano. - Extra attention to insight instead of learning dry rules by heart. - Tutoring fully tailored to your level and goal (classical, pop, songwriting, production, ...). About me I obtained a Grade 8 diploma in Music Theory and also a Grade 8 Piano from the Royal Schools of Music. In addition, I hold a diploma in Audio Engineering from Hofa College. I am active as a music artist and producer myself. Thanks to this combination of classical training and practical experience, I know how important it is to make theory understandable, concrete, and musical. I use my own piano during lessons to clarify everything visually and audibly. Possible topics: - Learn to read music. - Scales, chords & harmony. - Form and analysis (classical, jazz or pop). - Rhythm, time signatures & tempo. - Music theory for producers/songwriters. - Songwriting. - Preparation for exams or entrance tests. Practical - 1-on-1 lessons, online or live (if you don't live too far away). - I provide materials, or we work with what you need. - No prior knowledge required. Lessons adapted to your level. 🎶 Feel free to send me a message with your questions or goals. We'll see how I can best help you.
