As a passionate music educator and graduate of the Royal Northern College of Music and the Royal College of Music, I offer personalized piano lessons for students aged 5 and up, from beginners to advanced levels. My teaching approach combines music theory with practical techniques tailored to individual goals, fostering a love for diverse musical styles. Each lesson, typically lasting 30 to 60 minutes, is interactive and engaging, featuring games and exercises to reinforce concepts, along with regular constructive feedback to motivate progress.

The world of music theory and notation can seem daunting and complex for the uninitiated, but with a little bit of coaching, anyone can learn to speak the language of composition. In this class, I will teach students how to notate their musical ideas, as well as to stretch and develop them into fully fledged pieces. Suitable for any level of ability, I can introduce the basics, help with GCSE and A-Level students, or assist anyone who is interested in composition as an independent project. With me, you will learn about a variety of composers and their music from J.S. Bach to Morton Feldman and their approaches to composition. This will do nothing but enrich your own work and inspire your creativity.

About the lessons: Relaxed environment tailored to your personal needs. Lessons vary between 30 mins and 1 hour and can be as long as 2 hours with the addition of theory. About Me: I grew up in Athens, Greece, I am a graduate of the Berklee College of Music (US) affiliate's, Philippos Nakas Conservatory, Modern Music department and I specialise in Rock, Metal and Fusion. In addition, I have more accreditation from RGT (Registry of Guitar Tutors) and BIMM (British and Irish Modern Music Institute), but I believe in a hands on approach. Last but not least, I have participated in many groups and toured the UK and Europe. I recently composed and released an album and I am currently writing new material. Outside of music, I value health and exercise and I am always looking for ways to challenge myself and grow as a person.

I teach Guzheng and Chinese music theory from beginners to advanced students, or for professional purposes. I will ask my students lots "Why" on their performance. It helps students think, have their own character in music. We will focus on basic practice and technical aspects, such as posture, finger strength, movements and articulation. I focus on expression and interpretation of different music pieces, how student think of the notes and how to present music. We start with tuning and doing basic training, revision of last lesson for 15 minutes, follow by learning those pieces in detail for about 20 - 25 minutes. The last 5-10 minutes will be dedicated to the review and assignments. Besides all these, I will teach basic Chinese Music theory as well to help with better understanding and learning on Music. *Part of basic training will always in every lesson. This helps students to have a better control of their fingers' independence, and to strengthen every techniques. For specific learning Chinese music theory students, please bring with a notebook to mark down those key points.

Nathan has been playing Guitar and studying Music for over 15 years, from Primary School right through to the current day in University. Beginning just under a year ago, Nathan has thoroughly enjoyed passing on his enthusiasm and passion for Guitar and Music alike through tutoring. Nathan has several qualifications in Music, including GCSE, A Level and First Class honours in Musical Arts (BA) and, starting with a Masters, he hopes to add to these qualifications in the future. Nathan’s teaching style revolves around his students and therefore adapts to the different students he is teaching, considering their skill level, age and personality when approaching each lesson. Alongside teaching, Nathan is hugely passionate about playing in his Function Band, recording and mixing songs and of course listening to music almost none stop. Nathan teaches Guitar from beginners to intermediate level players and teaches Music Theory up to grade 5 of all ages. Nathan’s lessons include breaking down the fundamentals of both guitar ad theory, from posture, fingering technique, scales, arpeggios, chords, rhythm, melody and anything else the student wishes to learn. He will teach any exam boards requested, preparing his students for their respective exams by breaking down each technical component previously mentioned with specific focus given to each section of the exam. Whether the student wishes to focus on melody, rhythm, chords or just playing their favourite band’s songs, he will devote all his energy to providing the required tutoring in helping his students fulfil these wishes, whilst enjoying themselves in the process. Nathan will give his all to teaching as many genres as he possibly can, although has vast experience in classical and pop music, particularly Funk, Rock and Jazz. His first lesson with any student will be relaxed, with the aim of figuring out the students skill level and what they wish to achieve through their lessons. The student simply needs to let Nathan know their priorities in terms of what they wish to learn and their enthusiasm in achieving this. It is common for Nathan to prepare warm-up exercises for his students, such as stretching exercises for the wrists and hands, along with exercises to develop the technique of each hand, for example finger/plectrum exercises and chromatic scales.
