Learn to think mathematically: private mathematics lessons for university and secondary school.Translate this text using Google Translate.

Learn to think mathematically: private mathematics lessons for university and secondary school.Translate this text using Google Translate.

*English version below* Mathematics only becomes truly manageable when you know how to tackle a problem. I help you solve problems independently, so that you can master your subject, as well as all the mathematics that follows. My approach We work through the thinking process together, so you discover the solution yourself. No ready-made answers, but the right questions and hints at the right time. This way, you build the skills and confidence step by step to tackle mathematics independently. Soon, mathematics becomes much less difficult and intimidating, and after a while, even fun! The power of private lessons is more time and more personalization: your questions, your pace, focus on what you need. A session feels like a collaboration. Thinking out loud, trying something out, making a mistake and starting over: it is all part of the process. My method is based on insights from learning psychology, in particular the model of cognitive apprenticeship (Collins, Brown & Newman, 1989). The idea is simple: first, I make visible how a mathematician thinks, and then I pass that thought process on to you step by step. How a lesson proceeds A standard lesson lasts two hours. True understanding takes time, and two hours gives us the space to thoroughly explore problems. One-hour lessons are also possible upon request. Before the lesson, send me the questions and exercises you are stuck on. I will prepare them so we can get started right away. During the lesson, we work through your material together: exercises, theory, and proofs. You think, I provide guidance. After the lesson, you will receive a concise summary and a few questions to work on yourself. About me I am studying mathematics at KU Leuven and previously obtained a bachelor's degree in psychology. I offer support in probability and statistics, (linear) algebra and analysis at the university level, and in all secondary education mathematics. Outside of mathematics, I enjoy bouldering, classical piano, and studying Japanese. I also really love being in nature. English: I help you become an independent problem solver. Once you learn how to approach a problem, your course becomes manageable, and so does any mathematics you meet after it. My philosophy We work through the thinking process together, and with the right hints and nudges, you will be the one finding the answers! This gives you the tools to do mathematics on your own. As you gain confidence, the subject gets a lot less difficult and intimidating. It will even become fun! Private tutoring lets me build everything around you: your questions, your pace, your sticking points. Our sessions are a collaboration, two people figuring out the mathematics together, where thinking out loud and trying out ideas is encouraged. My method is grounded in learning psychology, specifically the framework of cognitive apprenticeship (Collins, Brown & Newman, 1989), which focuses on making expert thinking visible and gradually handing it over to the learner. A standard session Sessions last 2 hours by default. Real understanding takes time to build, and a two-hour block gives us room to work through problems in depth. One-hour sessions are possible on request. Before: you send me the specific questions and problems you've run into. I prepare them in advance, so our time goes to working on them rather than me reading them for the first time. During: we work through your material together, with you doing the thinking and guiding me. This can be exercises, theory, proofs, etc. After: you get a written recap of the session plus a few guiding questions to keep you moving in your own study. About me I'm a mathematics student at KU Leuven, and I previously completed a bachelor's degree in psychology. I tutor probability and statistics, (linear) algebra and calculus/analysis at university level and any secondary school mathematics. Outside of math, I boulder, play classical piano and study Japanese. I also love spending time in nature.

Private tutoring in Maths/Physics for middle/high school studentsTranslate this text using Google Translate.

Private tutoring in Maths/Physics for middle/high school studentsTranslate this text using Google Translate.

Hello, My name is Stana and I am 21 years old. I have just finished a preparatory course in Physics and Engineering Sciences. I am now joining ESTACA in Bordeaux to study aeronautics. I offer tutoring in mathematics and physics/chemistry. I can also help with other subjects if needed (French, history/geography, English...). I would be delighted to be able to offer my help, whether it be to prepare for the brevet or the baccalaureate, and thus transmit an effective working method, a structure and more in-depth explanations. I usually work with the student at their home, but video calls are possible. Last year, I had the opportunity to tutor several students of varying levels (grades 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12) who were experiencing different difficulties, learning at different paces, and using diverse learning methods. I easily adapt to each student's needs. I am also available on Superprof, where you can read my various testimonials. I studied at Blaise Pascal High School in Orsay (91) where I obtained my baccalaureate (specializing in Mathematics and Physics-Chemistry + advanced mathematics option) with honors. I then continued my studies in MPSI and then PSI at the same high school. Thanks to my studies, I've gained a more visual understanding of certain concepts that can seem obscure in mathematics or physics, and I would be delighted to share this with my students. I believe that with a more engaging yet rigorous approach, everyone can improve while rediscovering their passion for science. While the lessons provide a foundation for learning, exercises are essential, so I will also assign short homework assignments between lessons and review them with guidance. Feel free to contact me for more information.

Mathematics courses, from 9th grade to the end of high school, or courses for adultsTranslate this text using Google Translate.

Mathematics courses, from 9th grade to the end of high school, or courses for adultsTranslate this text using Google Translate.

In my private math lessons, I adopt a student-centered approach, aiming to create a supportive and effective learning environment. Here are the fundamental principles that guide my sessions: Listening and Analysis: I pay particular attention to listening to students in order to understand their problems and identify the specific obstacles they encounter. A careful analysis of their difficulties makes it possible to target the areas requiring particular attention. Adaptation of the Explanations: The explanations are tailored to each student, using examples and topics that resonate with their interests and level of understanding. This personalization promotes a better assimilation of mathematical concepts. Practical Application: Each lesson is accompanied by a practical application to give concrete meaning to the theoretical concepts. Students are encouraged to see the relevance of mathematics in real-life situations. Success through Simple Steps: Complex principles are broken down into simple and manageable steps, allowing students to progress in a logical and structured way. This method promotes understanding and reduces anxiety when faced with mathematical challenges. Encouragement and Positivity: I make it a point of honour to maintain a positive atmosphere, by congratulating the efforts and successes of the students. Recognizing progress, even minimal progress, strengthens motivation and self-confidence. Logic, Patience, and Pedagogy: My approach is guided by logic, patience and adapted pedagogy, ensuring that each student can follow and understand at their own pace. Results Obtained: Grade Improvement: For the majority of students (about ten), grades increased significantly, reaching up to 18/20. One student in particular saw his grades go from 5/20 to scores between 14 and 15/20 in 10th and 11th grade. This student passed his professional maturity exam and was able to follow the post-maturity program thanks to a refresher course and targeted learning. Acquisition and Trust: All students not only acquired mathematical concepts, but they also learned how to put them into practice. They have regained confidence in their abilities, which is essential for their continued success in mathematics and other academic fields. These private lessons aim to transform the experience of mathematics for each student, shifting it from a source of stress to an opportunity for success and personal growth.
