As a classically trained opera singer, I offer voice and piano/keyboard instruction to students of all ages and skill levels, and I believe that everyone has the ability to find their inner musician. Through voice or piano instruction, I aim to help each of my students find their unique musical voice while building a foundation of technique, and I encourage my students to embrace mistakes and imperfections in the learning process. I also embrace teaching a variety of genres including pop, jazz, musical theatre, classical, and accompaniment. Most importantly, I hope to inspire a genuine passion for music in each of my voice and piano students. Biography: Born and raised in North Carolina, Kennedy is a classically trained mezzo soprano. She teaches and performs across a wide range of genres, including classical, musical theatre, gospel, and pop. She found her passion for singing and performing at the age of 5 when she began to sing in church, and her love for the performing arts led her to participate in choir and musical theatre throughout school. She has performed roles such as Annie in Annie Get Your Gun and Cat in the Hat in Seussical. Kennedy began piano lessons at age 15 and classical vocal training at age of 17. She went on to receive a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from UNC Chapel Hill, where she dove into classical vocal training and performed operatic roles such as the Sorceress in Dido and Aeneas and Madame de la Haltière in Cendrillon. It was at UNC that Kennedy fell in love with performing opera and found that classical vocal training also improved her musical theatre and pop repertoire. After studying abroad in London and Florence during her time at UNC, Kennedy decided to return to London to pursue a master’s degree. She graduated in 2020 with a Master of Music in Classical Vocal Performance from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music & Dance, where she was awarded the Kathleen Roberts Vocal Scholarship. During her time in London, she performed in venues such as The Queen’s House and Blackheath Halls, and sang various operatic roles such as The Third Lady in The Magic Flute, Gertrude in Louise, Ljubica in the contemporary chamber opera Svadba, and as Cenerentola in Cenerentola. She also gained training and experience singing in a wide range of languages, including Italian, French, German, Spanish, and Serbian. In addition to performing, Kennedy has an equal love for teaching and has taught voice and piano for over six years to students across London, North Carolina, and Spain. She currently resides in Madrid, Spain where she works as a music and English teacher.

I teach for all levels, from children starting from zero to students who want to prepare certifications at the Conservatories, passing through amateurs or simply curious of any age. I firmly believe in the importance of knowing how to read music and this is exactly what I teach first, obviously adapting the method to the age of my students: knowing how to read music is knowing one more language, which, if learned well, won’t ever be forgotten (like riding a bicycle!) and it is an invaluable wealth. Starting from that point I teach the position of the hand, the arm and the whole body at the piano, the fundamentals of the piano technique (giving great importance to the percussive movement of the finger and the distribution of weight), the understanding of musical language, the expression of the personality through the keyboard, the search for touch and knowledge of piano repertoire.

Welcome to my piano teaching studio! I am a professional pianist offering private piano and theory lessons for students of all levels. As a pianist with over 14 years of teaching experience in Europe and the USA, as well as over 23 years of playing/performing, I enjoy motivating my students with music of their own preferred style and interest, whether that be classical or contemporary. My main goal is to promote a positive experience and love for music-making during the learning process. If the student is interested in a more structured approach, I guide preparation for grades 1-8 of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) piano and music theory exams where my students consistently receive highest marks. I also have successful experience preparing students for conservatory entrance auditions, masterclasses, and competitions in the Europe, the USA, India, and Canada. We have class concerts at Pianos Maene for interested students twice per year. I am happy to provide either a more relaxed or a serious approach to learning piano, we simply need to discuss the personal goals and preferences of each student. My own studies are as follows: I have obtained two postgraduate performance degrees at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp: "Concertsoloist" in Piano Performance and "Chamber Music” (under the guidance of esteemed professor Sergei Edelmann). Prior to this, I received my Bachelor and Masters degrees in Piano Performance/Music from the University of Minnesota - Minneapolis (with Prof. Lydia Artymiw) and Texas Christian University, Fort Worth (with Dr. Tamas Ungar). My experience includes collaboration with many different instrumentalists and singers, performing as a soloist and collaborative member in several orchestras, and receiving top prizes in several competitions. While maintaining my performance and recording career in Belgium at present, I am developing my private music studio in central Antwerp and look forward to meeting new students.

Fully online piano assessment and focused follow-up lessons in English for serious students who want a clear professional view of their current level, their main technical-musical bottleneck and the next practical steps. This is not a casual lesson. It is a structured professional assessment for students who practise regularly but do not fully understand why their playing still does not sound free, stable, expressive or convincing. I am a Russian-trained concert pianist and piano educator with more than 20 years of teaching experience, international performance background, recordings, masterclasses and academic-level teaching experience. I teach piano as an integrated system: sound, movement, rhythm, phrasing, memory, musical understanding and intelligent practice. During the assessment, I look at the student’s playing as a complete musical and technical system: — sound and tone quality — body coordination and technical freedom — rhythm, pulse and inner stability — phrasing and musical direction — articulation and dynamics — reading and understanding the score — voice balance, harmony, form and musical logic — memory and reliability — practice method and self-checking skills After the session, the student receives a written summary with the main observations, the central bottleneck and a concrete practice plan for the next stage of work. Possible formats: 1. Piano Assessment / Piano Reset 60 minutes online + written summary with a concrete practice plan 2. Piano Assessment + 4 focused follow-up lessons After the assessment, we can continue with 4 online lessons focused on improving the main bottleneck: reading, rhythm, sound, movement, phrasing, memory or practice strategy. Format: assessment session + 4 focused online lessons This format can be especially useful during the summer break, before the new school year, before an exam, recording or performance, after a long break from piano, or when the student feels that regular practice is not bringing the expected progress. The goal is not simply to add more pieces or more practice time. The goal is to understand what exactly is blocking progress and to build a clearer, more effective way of working.
