Hello there! My name is Rocco, I’m a guitarist and educator currently based in Cologne, and I’m offering private guitar lessons taught in English -or Italian (aber ich spreche auch ein bisschen Deutsch..!). Here are some infos about myself: I grew up in Italy, and graduated at the ArtEZ Conservatory in Arnhem (NL) in 2019. During the last few years I attended the Berklee School of Music in Boston (2014), won the “Locomotive Jazz Festival Giovani” contest (2015), and played and recorded together with musicians such as Jerome Hol, René Creemers, Andre Groen, Pieter Douma and Alan Purves. I have performed in several music festivals such as North Sea Jazz, Moers Festival, InJazz, MusicMeeting, Lowlands, Make-it Jazz, and more. I am currently busy with several projects in the modern jazz scene in Germany and The Netherlands, while teaching in an international school in The Netherlands and having private students in Cologne. I have been giving private lessons since six years now, both classic guitar (focusing on classical technique, reading and interpreting) and electric (mainly jazz/blues/rock vocabulary and improvisation). - Flexible appointments (also in weekends); - Every lesson pack is also available online, with a reduced fee; - Available for beginners intermediate and advanced level; - Our in-person lessons can take place either around the Cologne Ehrenfeld Station or in Eupenerstrasse. . Whether you are new to the instrument, or a fully experienced musician who maybe wants to confront a new improvisational approach towards complex jazz harmonies Ciao!

If you would like to learn drums or are looking for ways to take your existing skills to a higher level, then I can help you. I began my studies at the Maastricht Conservatory in 2017 with Arnoud Gerritse and Ron van Stratum and successfully completed them in 2021. In addition to various band projects in the areas of rock, jazz, hip hop and other related music genres, I have also been giving lessons for about 5 years and since I have now moved to Cologne after completing my bachelor's degree, I would like to offer them here too. The lessons are aimed at both beginners and advanced students and can also be used as preparation for the entrance exam.

The rule is simple: don't be afraid to make a fool of yourself! Students are encouraged to try, fail, and overall be proactive in learning new information in bite-sized chunks: all of that in a warm and comforting environment. Depending on the personal goal of the student, we will learn/refine/explore the following topics: - Fundamental techniques of playing electric bass - Understanding and coming up with a bassline - What makes it groove? - How to improvise: soloing and walking bass - How to change the underlying harmonies of a song to make it sound cooler (or weirder!) - Understanding how the musical elements are glued in a song, and if you dare, how to write one yourself - How to learn music or play music by ear Languages: English (fluent), German (B1 and improving), Korean (native)

If you've been eager to get better in drums and therefore studying all its different styles and genres, I definitely can help you with that! Particularly, I've studied in deep Tony Williams' and Elvin Jones' playing and the main drummers of the jazz era from the 50s to the 70s , so if you really want to improve that kind of vision and sound I can give you some great hints such as transcriptions, analysis, sound strategies and many video materials. Also, I am specialized in Funk/Hip-Hop music and that kind of groovy world. So, I've been mastering a specific approach to this genre as well. About me: I've been playing drums since I was 6. I got my Master Degree in 2022 at Salerno Music Conservatory (Italy) in Jazz Drums and Percussion. I've been doing the role of Assistant Professor at KCB with Stéphane Galland since 2023. Since I moved to Belgium I had to chance to collaborate and sharing the stage at the moment with Manou Gallo, Zap MAMA, Stephane Mercier, David Linx and various others.
