Graduated from Berklee College of Music (Boston) and IMEP Paris College of Music, I offer piano and computer music lessons for children, teenagers and adults, from beginner to advanced musician. Specializing in jazz, I also teach all styles of music (pop, rock, variety, blues, film music, contemporary music, etc.). My goal is to adapt each lesson to the student's desires, level, and objectives, in an atmosphere that is serious, supportive, and friendly. With five years of teaching experience, I favor a progressive pedagogical approach, which allows students to acquire a solid foundation while enjoying playing. A course typically consists of: Rhythm work; Music theory concepts applied to the instrument; Study of a piece chosen according to the tastes and level of the student. Depending on your objectives, the courses may also cover: Composition: creating melodies, understanding chords and harmony; Improvisation: learning to build solos, to play naturally over a chord progression and to find one's way within the structure of the piece; Piano technique: posture, touch, independence of limbs, articulation and quality of sound; Applied music theory: scales, harmony, nuances, phrasing, rhythms and musical analysis. The pieces studied are chosen in consultation with the student in order to maintain a motivating progression adapted to their musical tastes. While creating a repertoire, we will work the ear, rhythm, technique. I focus on practice, improvisation, and the relationship between you and your instrument in order to have fun on your bass. The basics: - the silence - harmony (scales, chords, intervals) - rhythm (binary, ternary, swing, shuffle) - the sound (technique, nuance) - the coding of the English chords (A = la, E- = E minor, etc.) - the musical culture and the different ways of listening to music A choice: - improvisation (learning to play without partition, becoming able to play with anyone, anytime) - group music in general (the modern bass, the different roles of the instruments in a group) - jazz (standards, swing, notions of harmonies and improvisation) - rock, funk (notions of groove, rhythmic placement, search for sounds, pentatonic scales) - music games for children The instrument remains a tool to make music, so we will work to become a MUSICIAN (with the help of a bass guitar).
