Piano lessons in Jazz, Classical, or Modern styles; depending on the student's interest, we can mix a bit of everything or delve deep into one style. Main focus applied to overcome the problem of piano: mastering two-handed rhythm. To achieve this, I teach left-hand grooves and foundations while working on improvisation, harmony, melodies, accompaniments, and everything there is to play with the right hand. I introduce piano techniques such as walking bass, tenths, stride, drop 2, and more. From my experience, rhythm, "Groove", and the connection with the music in the moment it is being played are the most challenging aspects to learn and integrate. Thus, I give significant emphasis to these topics in my sessions, especially those aimed at playing polyrhythmic instruments such as the piano. I cover compositional tools, approaching Jazz Standards, accompaniment techniques, improvisation methods for any instrument, Blues tools, methods to strengthen the relationship with the instrument, analysis, and listening skills. I also teach classical piano for those interested, and offer specific training in rhythm and percussion. I am fully committed to my students. I am a Spanish pianist and composer (MMus graduate from Codarts Rotterdam in both directions) with many years of teaching experience, and also very active in performing in various contexts. I give private piano lessons for all levels and styles (classical, jazz, Latin, new age, pop...), as well as music theory, composition and improvisation lessons.
