The lesson can take many shapes and forms. The main benefit of learning with a teacher, rather than from a video or a book, is that each lesson can be different and tailored to your needs! For example, you can bring a song you're trying or want to learn (recording or sheet music/tab) and we'll work on it together. You can come with a specific problem like a part or technique you cannot get right. Maybe you are just in a place where you don't know what to do next. Don't worry, I'll help you set your musical voyage on course. Finally, if you don't want or feel like bringing anything, you just want to come and have fun playing and talking about music — that's also great! Here are the examples of different problems I can help you solve: • arranging songs you like on the guitar, • improving technique by playing music you like, • upgrading the campfire chops, • composing indie lines and sounds, talking about pedals, • learning to improvise, • learning music theory, • learning jazz standards, • basics of recording, making demos, and backing tracks. If you like the sound of that, send me a message! I will help you navigate the universe of music you like or hear in your head – regardless of the genre or your level of advancement.

“Music is the movement of sound to reach the soul for the education of its virtue” (Plato) I think of music as a discipline, but it also is the most strong language we know as human being. Whatever your level is, you’ll always get something out from music, and that’s why, in my opinion, our main goal should always be, as students and musicians, just to have fun, because that’s when music works. These lessons are for everyone who wants to develop his instrumental skills and musical knowledge: during the lessons we’ll have the opportunity not only to work on all the theoretical aspects but we’ll also put focus on the meaning of what we do and why do we do it. The main subjects are improvisation, instrumental techniques, harmony development, music theory, how to obtain the best sound, transcriptions, music history, and of course we'll go through with any kind of request from the student. With a conscious education, everyone can have his own musical language and his own ideas, and my job we’ll just be to make the student able to feel free and enjoy your music.

The rule is simple: don't be afraid to make a fool of yourself! Students are encouraged to try, fail, and overall be proactive in learning new information in bite-sized chunks: all of that in a warm and comforting environment. Depending on the personal goal of the student, we will learn/refine/explore the following topics: - Fundamental techniques of playing electric bass - Understanding and coming up with a bassline - What makes it groove? - How to improvise: soloing and walking bass - How to change the underlying harmonies of a song to make it sound cooler (or weirder!) - Understanding how the musical elements are glued in a song, and if you dare, how to write one yourself - How to learn music or play music by ear Languages: English (fluent), German (B1 and improving), Korean (native)
