Hi, I'm Paola and I'm a graduate in Italian Literature and I also have a master's degree in Teaching Italian to Foreigners. During my time at university, I gave private lessons to Erasmus students in Italy. That experience further strengthened my interest in teaching. For many years, I have been giving individual Italian lessons in Amsterdam and online to students of various levels. Whether you want to learn or improve your Italian, I am happy to help you. I use a book that I integrate with different materials. Conversation is very important, but so is listening and understanding a text. The price for 2 people is higher of course, so send mj a message for more information. A presto!

👋🏼 Hello! I'm Francesca. Do you want to learn or improve your Italian? No problem, over 300 students have studied with me and learned while having fun. I started teaching at 19 thanks to my high school principal and I have over 15 years of experience, in Italy and abroad, all over the world thanks to the internet. I offer online Italian courses for all levels, from absolute beginners to advanced learners, i.e., C2. I always have quality reference books to recommend to students. My classes are highly personalized and tailored to the specific needs of each student. I guarantee quality because I put a lot of passion and care into everything I do, trying not to overlook the details. 🚀 During the lessons, I will help you learn the basics of general Italian, paying attention to pronunciation and intonation while reading. I am always attentive to the needs of the students and ready to tailor my lessons. My lessons are an investment for the present and the future because they are prepared with passion, a lot of experience, and dedication 🧡. 🌟 If you are a beginner, don't worry because I take great care to make you feel comfortable. ➡️ I work on different levels: conversation on different topics, grammar, reading, writing, dictation and games (role-playing games in which the student can test himself by communicating in a natural and practical way with the teacher, as in real life). In addition, preparation for official language certificates (CELI, CILS, PLIDA), the Swiss maturity exam, apprenticeship as a commercial employee CFC and tailor-made courses in a certain professional field. ➡️ All levels: A1-C2

Ciao! I have been teaching Italian for the past sixteen years, privately and at language schools including La Scuola Italiana del Greenwich Village in New York and ItalCultura, the school of the Italian Cultural Institute of Chicago. During our first two lessons, I’ll make sure you have the tools to pronounce and recognize all the sounds of Italian. This step is essential, and it makes everything that comes afterwards much easier. When I teach, I try to avoid all the things I hated as a language student. My terrifying French teacher in middle school made us repeat the same fake dialogue from a really bad textbook ad nauseam, over and over and over again. Some of it is still carved into my brain: “Bonjour, je m’appelle Richard Drapeau, je viens du Canada, je suis Canadien...” So we won’t do that. We’ll use real songs and real literature. We’ll have real conversations, tell stories, improvise, and, when possible, go on “talking walks.” I find that when you engage more of your senses, it becomes easier to relax, stay curious, and actually remember new words. I customize my materials around your interests, needs, and desired pace. If you love cinema, we can work with films. If you’re interested in literature, politics, food, art, history, or simply being able to have a proper conversation when you’re in Italy, that can become part of the class. And because you’re learning with a native Italian, you’ll also learn about Italian culture, history, habits, gestures, contradictions, and ways of thinking. Language is never just a pile of grammar rules. I speak several languages myself, so I know both how exciting and how painfully tedious learning one can be. My aim is to give you a strong foundation without draining all the life out of it. I hold a degree in Lingue e Letterature Straniere (Foreign Languages and Literatures) from Università Roma Tre and a Master of Fine Arts in Interdisciplinary Arts and Media from Columbia College Chicago. I wrote my university thesis on translating a long epic poem by W. H. Auden, and at one point I tried to ride a horse across America.
