About the Course:
Brazilian music repertoire is a vast world where you can travel through different rhythms (e.g Choro, Maxixe, Samba, Partido Alto, Samba Teleco-teco, Samba de Roda, Capoeira, Ijexá, Chula, Côco, Baião, Xaxado, Xote, Frevo, Galope, Arrasta Pé, Carimbó, Bumba-Meu-Boi). Each one has specifics musical structures that must be comprehended in order to improve your playing style and get an authentic Brazilian feel.
Throughout this course you'll learn how to identify and understand those rhythms by ear, develop your articulation and accent, improve your knowledge about typical chords progression from each style, refine your comping skills using Brazilian rhythms patterns and build your repertoire.
This course was created to attend Acoustic and Electric Guitar players who wishes to study a solo repertoire or have the desire to play inside a rhythm section. Important to notice that I have an academic music background in both instruments, therefore I can provided you the unique technique of each instrument.
About your Teacher:
Has studied at the most important Brazilian music institutes as EMMSP (Escola Municipal de Música de São Paulo), EMESP (Escola de Música do Estado de São Paulo), Conservatório Souza Lima & Berklee, Faculdade Santa Marcelina and EM&T-SP. Nowadays its a regular student at EMMSP, being a pupil of Daniel Murray.
