Learning to ply the violin and viola is a challenging enterprise; not because attaining skill and mastery are impossible, but because the techniques involved in great playing are so exacting; which means, without the right knowledge, experience, mindset, and technique, superb playing would be impossible. What is not beneficial is the right teacher. The right teacher is a shortcut to mastery. Having a trustworthy instructor who helps make you aware of things, that you are not is totally indispensable. Having accurate and true information makes progress much more straightforward and much less painful. In my classes, students gain all that the7 need to become great musicians, who definitely know what they are doing, and feel empowered to succeed.
