My private lessons are geared towards high school or college level.
My teaching philosophy is to adapt to each student, and to trust them so that they gain confidence in their mathematical abilities (which is often a determining factor).
> I proceed by reviewing the key points of the course as well as typical methodologies via small sheets that I provide in digital format to my students.
> I question the student on points that he finds unclear
> I approach the course with a geometric approach: with diagrams, drawings => to ensure that the student develops intuition and really understands the course in depth
> I develop exercises that require all the key techniques for exercises based on the baccalaureate
Finally, the student can of course contact me during the week to quickly answer a question.
I try as much as possible to create a healthy working environment, where the student's efforts are valued, which generally leads to results.
### my studies and my career
Holder of a Baccalaureate Série S option Mathematics. (mention TB), I was in preparatory class Maths Sup / Maths Spé at the Lycée Saint Louis in Paris 6: which allowed me to now be in statistical engineering school (ENSAI) in Rennes where I continue my mathematical career.
> Bac S: Maths options - TB mention
> Preparatory Class: Lycée Saint Louis (Paris 6)
- MPSI
- MP
> ENSAI [current]
### online courses
I have all the necessary equipment to give distance learning courses in excellent conditions:
> Graphics Tablet
- to have a legible written record and make quality diagrams and drawings
> Pro Microphone
- for impeccable sound quality
I also offer to record the sessions that I send to the student if they wish to return to the course later.
I'm Hugo, I have a background in mathematics (Classes Préparatoires Mathématiques Spéciales) before doing statistical engineering (ENSAI) then PhD student in mathematical statistics (UCL). The course I offer aims to be able to build the missing links whether for the application of mathematics (let's be honest, many are looking for courses to perform in exams) or the appreciation of mathematics with my somewhat unorthodox approach based on intuition and understanding before rigor.
Here is the kind of content that can be covered:
- clarify the course: even if it is only through the history of maths, clearing up concepts using drawings, diagrams and examples of motivation, etc.
- work technique: how to work on math? Here we are looking for efficiency
- mathematical technique: exercises, supervision and discussion on how to solve exercises, the idea is not to know how to solve a type of exercise, but how to establish exercise resolution strategies, which is obviously much more general, harder to work on, but above all much more robust when faced with a new exercise not seen before
- mathematical curiosities: talk about the concrete application of certain concepts seen in class
- question and answer session
- lecture on a desired topic
- anything that can touch on math at the customer's request 😉
As you can see from the price, I'm not really doing this for the money; in fact, I'm just looking to keep myself busy doing something that makes me happy and gives me the feeling of being useful at the same time. I hope the low price won't discourage some people from the quality of the support, which I hope is optimal. The amount is more symbolic.
