I am Cristopher, a math teacher in training, with experience in establishments such as Saint George's College and Gabriel González Videla High School. I am 23 years old, which makes me a more accessible teacher for my students. I know current trends, games, books, movies, and, in general, the students' tastes. I take advantage of this to "personalize" the learning process. The materials I use and the homework I assign will all be specifically for the student, considering their tastes, strengths, and weaknesses. The goal, in addition to getting good grades, which they will get, will be for the student to lose their fear of math, a fear that blocks learning and causes anxiety. This way, students will be able to re-engage in mathematical learning through logical reasoning, critical thinking, and problem-solving. I see mathematics as more than just a mechanical process of copying, memorizing, and repeating, but rather as a tool for developing as a human being and understanding the world around us, and it is this vision that I try to convey in my mathematics classes. I use a survey (forms) to get to know the student a little better (prior to class), to find out how they like to learn, what they find easier, how they feel when they are in a math class, what their tastes and hobbies are, and I develop personalized material based on the responses obtained.
