Tailored Learning: I design lessons around students’ needs, goals, and interests while aligning them with the IB Spanish B curriculum. Both in SL and HL, I ensure a balance between rigorous skill-building and engaging, relevant contexts.
Communication at the Core: My classes go beyond grammar and vocabulary drills. Students learn to express ideas clearly and confidently, developing receptive, productive, and interactive skills in real-life situations. Mistakes become stepping-stones to fluency and self-assurance.
Intercultural Understanding: Guided by the five prescribed themes (Identities, Experiences, Human Ingenuity, Social Organization, Sharing the Planet), I help students explore global issues, cultural perspectives, and authentic texts. This fosters empathy, curiosity, and the open-mindedness central to the IB learner profile.
Academic Preparation: I equip students with strategies for success in all assessment components: written tasks, receptive skills papers, and the individual oral. At HL, I guide them in the study of literary works, encouraging deeper analysis and critical reflection.
Lifelong Passion for Languages: My ultimate goal is for students to fall in love with Spanish—not only as a school subject, but as a lifelong skill that broadens their worldview and strengthens their ability to connect with others.
Teaching with Heart: With passion, creativity, and dedication, I inspire students to grow as effective communicators, critical thinkers, and empathetic global citizens—fully aligned with the IB mission.
Personalized and academic approach: In my classes, students work with works and texts from different periods, genres, and cultures, following the pillars of the IB Language A program (readers, writers, and texts; time and space; intertextuality). I adapt each unit to their needs, while always maintaining the academic rigor required by the IB.
Critical Analysis and Aesthetic Sensitivity: I guide students in developing analytical, interpretive, and evaluative skills. My goal is for them to understand how language creates meaning and how texts interact with different contexts and traditions, while cultivating an appreciation for their formal and aesthetic features.
Literature as an intercultural encounter: As promoted by the IB, I understand literature as a space for cultural exploration and connection to local and global human issues. My classes encourage the exchange of perspectives and the development of an open and international mindset.
IB Assessment Preparation: I guide students in producing comparative essays, guided analyses, and individual oral presentations, providing clear and effective strategies to help them confidently address the program's external and internal assessments.
Passion and vocation: Beyond exams, I seek to help each student discover in literature a mode of expression, a source of enjoyment, and a critical thinking tool that will accompany them throughout their lives.
