I have finished my degree in Chemical Engineering recently. I chose this field especially for its versatility. I always been interested in maths and science especially since I chose engineering. Right now I am working as a Maths Recruitment Outreach Intern at University of Surrey. I have tutoring experience with my brothers and cousins who I helped with their school work and understand some topic where they struggled the most. I was a tutor for Year 8, 9 and GCSE students. I was an academic mentor in my Sixth form where I helped GCSE students with their revision. My teaching techniques would vary depending on the students at first I would try to understand how they learn and the topics they need the help most. As not all students are same. I try to make my lessons fun and informative. I try to make them excited and look forward to their lessons with me. I have a brother who just finished his GCSE and another who is going take one next year so I am quite knowledgeable with their curriculum. I have great knowledge on AQA, EDEXCEL and OCR exam boards.
Maths is one of my favourite subject and I am so enthusiastic about it that I would pass on my knowledge to other students. As a chemical engineer graduate I know how much is relevant in the real world application. I would like to show students that maths doesn’t have to studied just for exam but it can be learnt while enjoying the subject. As a maths department outreach intern, I am fully aware what schools and universities are looking from students. I believe that I can make students enjoy learning the maths subject.
