This course provides medical students with a structured, case-based introduction to key topics in internal medicine, with an emphasis on clinical reasoning, diagnostic accuracy, and holistic patient care. Through a combination of interactive lectures, bedside teaching, and small-group discussions, students learn to evaluate and manage common and complex internal medicine conditions across systems including cardiology, endocrinology, gastroenterology, pulmonology, and rheumatology.
Special focus is placed on integrating evidence-based medicine into practice, developing differential diagnoses, interpreting laboratory and imaging findings, and formulating comprehensive treatment plans. The course also incorporates communication skills, ethical considerations, and interdisciplinary collaboration to prepare students for real-world clinical challenges.
By the end of the course, students are expected to demonstrate competence in clinical assessment, medical decision-making, and empathetic patient interaction, while applying up-to-date guidelines and research in their approach to care.
