Having the longest documented history of any Indo-European language, the Greek language holds a very important place in the history of the Western World. As a native speaker of Greek and holding a BA in History and Archaeology from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, as well as an MA and a PhD in Classical Archaeology from the same University, I am ready to help you learn Greek effectively. Either being a beginner or an advanced student, you can get acquainted with the Greek Language and Culture or penetrate its mysteries through intensive or specialized courses. Having a ---more than 20 years--- experience in Teaching Greek for children and adults, I would be glad to share my passion for the Greek language, Ancient and Modern alike, through courses built upon each student's level, motivation and learning needs. This course is addressed to those who: ---Wish to gain a basic knowledge in Modern Greek, for everyday use or tourism. ---Wish to prepare especially for their exams in the Greek Language-Ellinomatheia levels (from A1 to C2). ---Wish to learn Greek in depth and gradually gain access to literature, culture, and ancient history.

I am Assistant Professor in Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. I studied History and Archaeology, I hold a Master of Arts in History, a Phd and Post-doc in Literature for children and young adults and I am a tutor for adults, cerified from the National Organisation for the Certification of Qualifications and Vocational Guidance. I have 13 year of experience in helping children and adults to learn Greek through specialized courses and to get acquainted with the Greek Culture (Literature, Ancient Greek Mythology, History, Conversational Greek, Walking Greek Lessons, Greek Poems and other interesting ways for practice, such as visits to the museums and cultural sites of Thessaloniki). I prepare people for exams in the Greek Language-Ellinomatheia levels from A1-C2 and help them to obtain the Certificates from A1-C2 level by the Greek Ministry of Education.My aim is also to help and keep my students motivated and more enthusiastic about the Greek language, etymology, History and culture, make them able to communicate in Greek and introduce them to the Greek habits and traditions.

Hello everyone! My name is Kiki, I am a linguist and a (Modern/Ancient) Greek language teacher, currently working on my PhD thesis on the intercultural expression of emotions. I am also a translator and a trained tour guide, constantly engaging in the interplay of language and culture! I live and work in Thessaloniki, Greece, and I 've been practicing teaching for over 15 years now, working within a whole variety of different environments and with people coming from a range of cultural backgrounds. One of the reasons I love teaching/translating is the ongoing process of exchanging knowledge of intercultural linguistic patterns that shape our everyday reality. I am constantly encouraging students of all ages to look out for more than grammatical rules and vocabulary, and to dig into the intriguing aspects of everyday communication. I thus adopt a communicative/conversational method, supplementing instructory books with verbal training and providing material from different cultural sources.
