Being a translator and a polyglot enables me to see languages and their grammar systems from a different angle than 'regular' Hungarian native speakers or school teachers. Based on my training and my regional expertise I also provide a variety of language support services for Hungarian. I have taught both in the private sector and in numerous language schools, adults and children of different ages. I can offer Hungarian to university level, for this is my mother-tongue, and German to B2 level since I live and work in Vienna for more than 20 years now. I came here to study and made my Bachelor's degree in Transcultural Communication and a Master's degree in Translation and Terminology Sciences at the University of Vienna then settled down with a good man and built a family. I also have a teaching qualification for 'German as a Foreign Language' from the University of Kassel in Germany, and didactic training on the renowned BERLITZ-method for 'Native Speaker Language Teachers'. Usually, I work from home, where I have a vast library of teaching resources such as worksheets, textbooks, picture dictionaries, flashcards, games, and lots of books for Beginners with Hungarian-German-English parallel texts, short stories for Easy Readers, etc. I use varying tutoring approaches, because no two learners are alike, whereby enjoyment is an important factor in my lessons. I very much like to use the latest technology and teaching techniques, but also have an extensive compilation of Hungarian language games, cards, songs, short stories, videos. I'm fond of and really appreciate internet sources to teach Hungarian, for I do believe that learning Hungarian can be fun. I aim to foster a friendly but professional relationship with each of my students, to build their confidence and self-belief when they learn a new language. Whether it is for work, school, university or out of personal interest, I can support you! I also specialize in preparing official language exams. More concretely, my specialties are: - Beginners: structured learning of grammar you need right away and practice of new knowledge in our dialogues. Vocabulary is taught through our conversations and in word groups. - A1-B2 exam preparation (according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages): based on practice material by the Goethe Institute, innumerous websites and own material - Learning by conversation: you can’t stand looking at too much grammar because it’s just not for you? The answer: talk and type! We’ll share a document with all our dialogues. - Refresher training: I can help you get back on track by letting you talk as much as possible. We can also go through grammar and conversation topics that you need to revise. The day of getting rid of pesky repetitive mistakes has come! Wow! I have to say I never had a language teacher like this! We spent the first meeting assessing the language level, and I don't mean A2 or B1, he evaluated my capabilities individually. In the evening he sent me countless multimedia sources that I could use to train all facets of the language at my level. He is very invested and expects the same from you, if you want a relaxed language class once a week that keeps you in your comfort zone and at the same level he is not for you. I decided to follow along and do as much as I could. Doing two classes a week I learned more Spanish than I would have ever thought to be possible!!! Furthermore, he takes care of your cultural education, a few weeks in the language journey we had a class at his house where he cooked an amazing dinner and we talked until late in the night. I recommend this amazing teacher 12/10!
