Programming for all (Python, Coding Games, Game Development)

Programming for all (Python, Coding Games, Game Development)

Hello Prospective Learner, I am Gundeep, grew up in India, studied in US and worked in Silicon Valley and have 10 years of programming experience in all kinds of programming languages. I would like to share that knowledge with others. I especially think it's a great time for kids to learn programming considering that it's the next frontier of knowledge. Currently there is 1 developer for every 4 jobs in The Netherlands. And participation is really low from minority communities and women. I want to play my small part to change that. I don't intend to have too many students since I work full time and my hope is to find a handful of committed students whom I can teach true of the essence of programming besides just the technical concepts. With young Kids 7-10 (like my son) I think technical coding-related games work great in teaching them how to think analytically. For teenagers+ I think they can already start learning python a very easy-to-use, extremely powerful language. I live with my wife and our 6-year-old son in Loosdrecht and would be willing to commute within reasonable distance. Online classes could be option too, but I strongly believe in person education is more effective. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any further questions. *Please note that I can only teach in English. Mijn nederlands is niet zo goed :/ ** For people from minority communities and women I would be glad to offer a cheaper price per lesson.

Learning Games Development With Unity From An Experienced Developer

Learning Games Development With Unity From An Experienced Developer

I'm a programmer with over 15 years of experience making games & developer. This is a game I've built from scratch and self-published. During my career, I've tackled almost all aspects of game development, so the session can be tailored to whatever level you require. If you're just curious about a career in games and want to talk to someone about what is involved, what the risks might be, if a university course looks good, etc we can talk it through in a 30-minute session. Otherwise, if you want to have a go at building a simple game from scratch, we can do that in a 60-minute session. It can be any type of game, but keep in mind that with only an hour we will only be able to build a very basic version, so it's best to have a simple idea in mind to get the most out of our time. I can also act as a consultant on your own game and help build a game over a longer period of time. For this I would recommend booking a weekly 1 hour session to see your progress and help guide you through each step as the game evolves. About Me: I've been developing games during my career which started as a software developer creating apps, websites, servers, databases, VR/AR projects and games. Lately I've been specialising in performance and optimisation. During my career I was always working on Aiyana as a passion project until after a couple of years I decided to start investing my spare budget from contract work into paying artists and audio engineers to help turn Aiyana into a more serious game. Once it reached a good quality bar I applied for, and received, a grant from the UK Games Fund which allowed me to quit my job for a while and focus purely on the game. During this time I tried to raise investment and was in talks with companies such as Lego and Ubisoft but in the end I wasn't successful and decided to publish Aiyana myself. The release went well with (currently) 94% positive reviews however self publishing means its harder to raise awareness of any project so its not making me enough money to pay a salary which is why I'm trying Apprentus.
