My name is Anne, I completed my B.A. degree in English, my Master degree, and my Ph.D. degree in the UK (Edinburgh University and Manchester University). I have more than 10 years of private tutoring experience in the fields of English and Chinese. In addition, I have been teaching at the University of Manchester in the UK for more than 4 years in the subjects of Social Science (Economics, Philosophy, and Politics). My teaching methodology varies, depending on the personality, interests, and needs of the students. I often teach English and Chinese through real-life examples, such as through news, movies, music, and cultural events. Depending on what you want to learn, we can focus on grammar, sentence structure, vocabularies of a particular topic, or start at the basics learning phonics. Also, if you need professional academic advice on homework or essays at the university or colleges, I will be more than happy to help you out. I am also familiar with editing and proofreading students' resume/ cv/ motivation letter. My class would be perfect for either adults or children wanting to improve their oral and written English skills. Each class will be personalized to your needs and abilities. The first class will evaluate your level and then we can start from there to personalize the best lesson plans for you to improve your English or Chinese. My lessons are fun, practical, and will improve your confidence in using English for work and pleasure. Come join me and try out!

The type of course I teach aims at clarifying the difficulties related to the comprehension and production of philosophical texts. "How should I approach this philosophical problem or text? "In what philosophical and historical context does this issue/problem fit?" "Which texts should I read?" "How should I read them?""How should I organise the information to communicate philosophical ideas?" are some of the questions I can help you solve. I specialise in Wittgenstein later philosophy and in Ordinary Language Philosophy.
