Secondary Accounting & BA1 — journal entries, balance sheet, income statement, cash flow, depreciationTranslate this text using Google Translate.

I offer accounting courses for secondary school students, particularly in vocational training, as well as for first-year bachelor's students at university or college. The objective is to help the pupil or student understand accounting logic, master important entries and know how to solve exercises in a structured way, whether for a quiz, an exam, a qualification or a refresher course. I primarily support pupils and students who wish to review the basics, better understand accounting mechanisms and practice on typical exercises. Subjects covered according to your program: • Basics of accounting: debit/credit, asset and liability accounts, expenses and revenues, chart of accounts, account logic, supporting documents and reading statements. • Journal and accounting entries: recording of current operations, purchases, sales, payments, receipts, VAT, customer and supplier accounts, entries with or without discount. • VAT and commercial transactions: VAT to be recovered, VAT to be paid, purchase invoices, sales invoices, credit notes, trade discounts, rebates, incidental expenses and calculations related to commercial transactions. • Depreciation: straight-line depreciation, declining balance depreciation, depreciation schedules, depreciation charges, net book value and year-end entries. • Provisions and adjustments: provisions, deferred charges, accrued income, charges to be allocated, deferred income, inventory entries and year-end adjustments. • Balance sheet and income statement: construction of the balance sheet, assets/liabilities, equity, debts, expenses, revenues, profit or loss for the year, link between the income statement and the balance sheet. • Basic financial analysis: working capital, working capital requirement (WCR), net cash, simple ratios, reading and interpretation of financial statements. • Cash flow: operating cash flow, investment cash flow, financing cash flow, distinction between accounting profit and cash flow. • Exam/qualification preparation: Typical exercises, past quizzes, exams, case studies, problem-solving methods, guided correction and identification of common errors. I can also help with economics depending on the level and program, particularly in microeconomics and macroeconomics: supply and demand, elasticities, costs, competition, market, growth, inflation, economic policy and basic models. Method of working : 1. We identify the chapters that pose a problem; 2. I will re-explain the accounting logic with simple examples; 3. We redo the exercises step by step; 4. I show how to recognize the type of writing or calculation required; 5. We construct a clear method so that the student can do it on their own. I do not limit myself to giving a correction: I explain the reasoning behind each writing and each calculation so that the subject becomes more logical and less mechanical. I have been giving private lessons for over 7 years in mathematics, statistics, economics, and accounting. I also have a degree from Solvay/ULB and professional experience in finance and business controlling at Deloitte, which allows me to explain accounting with an approach that is academic, university-level, and practical. Courses available in French or English, online or in person in Brussels or the surrounding area.

Money That Matters: Finance for Young Thinkers (9-13 years, EN/ES/FR)Translate this text using Google Translate.

Money That Matters: Finance for Young Thinkers (9-13 years, EN/ES/FR)Translate this text using Google Translate.

Kids don't need lectures about "good money habits." They need to feel what money does. While adults debate finances at home, kids are already using money, without actually understanding how. In this course, we learn by playing. And by thinking. We'll explore together: ✓ Simulate a real shop: handle actual money, practice spending and saving, discover what it feels like ✓ Create a personal budget: not boring spreadsheets, but visuals, games, and real challenges ✓ Ask the real questions: Need vs. want. Why save? How do people earn? What's debt? ✓ Discover how systems work: Banks, loans, digital money, and financial security ✓ Think like an entrepreneur: What services can I offer? How do I create value? How do I turn an idea into money? Why this is different: Most kids think "money is complicated." This class shows them that money is a tool, not a mystery, not something to fear. And, more importantly: that they can control it. What they take home: A personal budgeting system they actually understand. Answers to questions they've been asking. And the mindset: money is a means, not an end. Format: Online or Barcelona | 60-min sessions | Small group or one-on-one For curious kids who ask questions about money.

Jakub has been diligent in tutoring my daughter IB economics (Higher Level) weekly for the past 2 years. His command of english is perfect. Very knowledgeable and professional, Jakub is a well mannered, patient and accommodating teacher. He trained specifically to teach IB economics which is a real added value, Jakub gave useful tips along the course and was a real support with internal assessments.

Nina was a great tutor, quick to reply and able to provide answers to all the questions and problems I had for my masters thesis. She even spent time giving me tips for my future job search. I definitely recommend her for anything economics/econometrics/STATA.
