This class introduces the core concepts of film scoring and how music shapes story, emotion, and narrative in film and television. Students will learn how to support and move images through music, exploring timing, mood, theme, and structure. Lessons are tailored to each student’s interests and level, from complete beginners to advanced composers, and can focus on electronic, orchestral, or hybrid approaches. The course also includes analysis and deconstruction of existing film scores to understand compositional techniques and storytelling strategies. Students will learn how to set up and optimize their digital audio workstation for film scoring, define personal creative goals, and work with industry-standard orchestral sample libraries and synthesizers such as Spitfire Audio, Orchestral Tools, and Cinematic Studio Series. Films with sound design and no music can be provided for hands-on scoring exercises, enabling practical experience working directly to picture.

To get a feel for the vast world of audio production, it can be helpful to get an introduction. At the same time, my focus is less on the technical side and more on creating sound pieces. However, the basic functions of Ableton and Logic, as well as all common effects, will be explained. We will learn about different types of microphones and get an introduction to mixing. If you're interested in singing, I can also offer coaching for that, as well as an introduction to vocal production. The course is designed for beginners and those with a bit of an advanced level. Feel free to write to me about your expectations, and I can put together a suitable approach. I'm a freelance composer and sound artist who works primarily in songwriting and scoring, as well as in the art field with many electronic elements. I bring many years of experience and have worked with several professional producers in various professional recording studios. Those purely interested in techno and related genres will probably feel more comfortable in a different course. The courses take place in my own recording studio at home, and the equipment there can be shared. and we will take recordings that you are free to use.

Learn how to make your own beats, from the first basics to developing your own unique sound. In these lessons, we dive into the world of LoFi, Hip-Hop, Soul, Funk & Jazz, with a focus on groove, rhythm, harmony, sampling, and sound design. We start with the basics of beatmaking and music production. You will learn to work with Ableton Live or Logic Pro, program drums, build rhythms, find and edit samples, create bass lines, and use chords. Step by step, you will discover how to work from an initial musical idea to a complete track. In addition to the technical foundation, we pay a lot of attention to creativity, musicality, and developing your own style. You learn not only how to make a beat, but also how to give it its own character and groove. The lessons are suitable for both absolute beginners and advanced producers and are tailored to your level, musical taste, and personal goals. You work on your own tracks and receive practical feedback and personal guidance from an experienced producer and music teacher.

The classes are tailored to each individual: we can start from scratch, delve deeper into a specific tool, or work directly on a project you're already developing. The idea is for you to be able to use these tools practically to develop your own musical and sound projects. We can work on, among other things: - Max MSP and Max for Live (from scratch, audio synthesis and processing, Max for Live, patch design and programming, Works and Sets Live Electronics, patch design and programming, communication between Max and other programs, etc.) - Audio and production (Audio editing and processing, Pro Tools, Reaper, Logic Pro) - Spatialization (Ambisonics, Specialization, multichannel diffusion, multichannel audio, spatialization system design in Max MSP, etc.) - Musical language and theory (Musical language, harmony and analysis, rhythm and structure, and musical theory applied to electronic music) The classes are primarily online and can be in Spanish or English. No prior knowledge of programming or music theory is necessary. If you already have experience, we can start directly from your own projects and delve deeper into what you want to develop.
