My background in civil engineering has instilled in me a problem-based learning approach. And to do that, you need to do as many as possible. During my studies, I realized that the best way to understand a subject is by doing exercises on it. However, a certain foundation is necessary. Then, I work through one or more typical exercises with the student, explaining the steps involved. Finally, the student will do exercises on their own, using the formula sheet (using formulas is the best way to remember them).
