About Me

I have been giving private and group lessons for both students and adults for more than six years with a high pass rate of success when learning and passing exams.
As both a tutor and teacher, I have been able to demonstrate my ability as a professional educator and know how to set priorities, produce results and reach goals. I enjoy teaching Spanish at all levels and encouraging students to discover the pleasure of learning by preparing practical and attractive lessons.
I really enjoyed myself practicing sport activities such as tennis, squash or basketball. I also love nature and go hiking when possible. I am very passionate about personal and professional coaching, mindfulness, theatre or music therapy.

The method?

It is a teaching of language through games, art, culture and reading (press or literary). My central point is communication (understanding what is communicated to us and communicating). Teaching is functional and cooperative.

My experience and skills are mainly focused on improving conversation, however we can see in detail the grammar if you are also interested in this aspect. What I propose is a set of exercises to practice your oral expression:

-Free subjects or subjects of general interest: travel, leisure... or even more specialized themes such as politics, culture...
-Vocabulary games: riddles, descriptions, construction of sentences, short stories ... whose words will serve as a basis for other exercises in future sessions to consolidate what has been seen and to measure your progress
-Sketches: dramatizations of everyday situations or situations that make you or could make you uncomfortable in a foreign language (work interviews, shopping, making an appointment, procedures at the municipality, etc.) ). Here you will have the advantage of preparing yourself and having the situation under control with the support of the teacher.
-Songs: we will go through vocabulary, grammar, accents, expressions, cultural aspects and anecdotes using songs that are part of Spanish-speaking musical culture (Latin America and Spain)
Have you ever wanted to know what are the lyrics of a song in Spanish? This is your opportunity!
-I also use the following games during lessons, but you can suggest others:
tabú en español (taboo), story cubes, and other specific games for learning Spanish (board games for example)

I can also help you develop a more formal vocabulary (argumentation, presentation...). You can obviously choose the subject but if you lack an idea I can always suggest one and from there work on vocabulary and pronunciation, which will be reviewed each week in order to consolidate your knowledge and measure your progress. At the end of each session you will receive feedback on the exercises and a few days later you will also receive corrections and notes.

My name is Maria, a Venezuelan musician residing in Belgium. In the world of art, languages and cultures are a fundamental part of being able to understand each other and connect with each other in order to create something beautiful together, in my case music. Apart from being an artist, I like languages and learning them has become a passion for me, which is why I decided to take this passion to another level.

During my classes I want to help you learn my native language, which is Latin American Spanish, in a personalized and dynamic way.
The classes are separated by levels (A0-B2), where you will learn the grammar of the language but also vocabulary and expressions to use on a daily basis with other speakers of the language.
My idea is that each student learns the language at their own pace but understanding and daring to speak it from the first day. Support material (book, exercises, audios, etc) is always included.

Classes can be individual or in groups, both online and in person (Brussels, Belgium).

Aparte de ser artista me gusta los idiomas y aprenderlos se ha convertido en una pasión para mi, por eso he decidió llevar esta pasión a otro nivel.

Durante mis clases quiero ayudarte a aprender de una forma personalizada y dinámica mi lengua natal, que es el español latinoamericano.
Las clases están separadas por niveles (A0-B2), en donde aprenderás la gramática de la lengua pero también vocabulario y expresiones para usar en el día a día con otros hablantes de la lengua.
Mi idea es que cada alumno aprenda el idioma a su ritmo pero entendiendo y atreviéndose a hablarlo desde el primer día. Material de apoyo (libro, ejercicios, audios, etc) está incluido siempre.
