About Me
Profile
I am a passionate and effective Early Years Teacher with 7+ years’ experience. I have also been a KS1 Phase Leader and Phonics Lead. I have experience teaching a range of pupils in contrasting primary schools. I have confidence in teaching all areas of the curriculum. I bring forth several years of experience, combined with a passion for serving as an effective educator and helping younger children learn the basics that provide the foundation for their future education.
Education
Rachael graduated from Leeds Metropolitan University with a BA (Hons) Degree and a 2.1 classification in July 2012.
Rachael has graduated from Hull University with PGCE in Early Years (3-7) and gained QTS through Hull SCITT in July 2015.

Professional
Following and adhering school frameworks and policies, attending weekly department meetings and group meetings.

Executing behaviour management skills to establish high expectations whilst following the school behaviour policy. Delivering inspiring and motivating lessons for all abilities and adapting teaching methods to reflect this. Producing a variety of assessments for all pupils and therefore tracking and monitoring their progression to meet end of year targets.

Lunchtime choir practice for KS1 and promoting British Values within lesson plans.

Mentoring a school direct student including: modelling outstanding lessons, monitoring planning, observing lessons and assessing progress, working collaberatively with the training provider in order to ensure the student meets the teaching standards.

Science co-ordinator role across the school. Raising the profile of science for children and teachers. Attending CPD and then providing CPD for teachers keeping them up to date with procedures, opportunities and subject knowledge. Monitoring the teaching of science including book scrutinies and providing feedback for teachers in order for them to improve.

Peer support role across the academy featuring 15 schools. Allowing colleagues to visit the classroom, observe lessons and gain ideas and ways for improvement.
