Young & passionate musician gives music theory and solfeggio lessons for beginners

Young & passionate musician gives music theory and solfeggio lessons for beginners

- Do you want to start playing music but have little to no knowledge? - Are you struggling with the theoretical aspect of you music lessons? - Would you like to receive personalised help from a passionate young musician? Often considered a tiresome burden, music theory is to music what grammar is to language. It is a tool, a code that allows us to understand how our language works. Whether you're using words or notes, it's the same! This is why it is important to learn music theory pragmatically, keeping in mind that it is here to help us understand different musical languages, not at all to impose strict rules. In fact, it would be unthinkable to learn the grammar of a language without ever seeing its relevance in everyday practice! About me: As a 25 year old pianist / drummer / composer / sound engineer / electronic producer / DJ, I offer my help to learn music theory and solfeggio, both in harmony and rhythm. Currently a 3rd year student in Sound at INSAS, I studied musicology at ULB, and I practice music on a daily basis, whether as a pianist (improvisation, composition, learning jazz and classical pieces) or as a sound engineer and beatmaker. Some information about my musical background: - currently in my last year of piano studies (academy of Etterbeek) - member of the jazz ensemble of the Forest academy (2nd year) - regular concerts and composition in MAO (computer assisted music) for 7 years (mainly hip-hop) - 7 years of private drum lessons + Brazilian percussion lessons (batucada) - completed musical training (Etterbeek Academy, 4 years) - 3 years of music writing and analysis courses in academy - solo DJ as well as for a hip-hop group - recording and mixing as a sound engineer as part of my studies and outside: music, cinema, sound creation, etc The course: Depending on your wishes and / or needs, we can orient the course towards different facets of music theory. Whether it's harmony, rhythm, analysis or sight-reading; whether your objective is knowledge, composition, improvisation or the practice of an instrument, I can adapt to you! The first lesson is usually dedicated to assessing the student's level of knowledge and skills, and to establish together a draft programme for the following lessons. The idea is to progress at your own pace, in a good mood! This course is mainly intended for people starting out in music. Don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns, I'llbe happy to answer you!

Classical guitar lessons in Brussels with professional musician.

Classical guitar lessons in Brussels with professional musician.

Hello everyone, Μy name is Marianna and I am a concert artist and guitar tutor. I have nurtured a profound love for classical guitar since my childhood and commenced my musical journey at the age of 10. After attending the National Conservatory of Athens, I graduated with the highest honours. Furthering my studies, I joined the Royal Brussels Conservatory, where I undertook the Bachelor of Music programme under the tutelage of Antigoni Goni. Keen to explore different cultures and musical scenes, I opted to pursue further studies in Berlin, where I trained under Rainer Feldmann. Whilst studying at the Universität der Künste in Berlin, I cultivated a distinct passion for Baroque music and received tutelage in Baroque guitar and theorbo from Sam Chapman. During my studies, I provided private guitar tutoring and also taught at a state music school in Berlin/Brandenburg for five years from September 2018 until August 2023. During this time, I created and oversaw a guitar class of more than 35 students of diverse ages and skill levels. To complement my teaching methodology, I formed three guitar ensembles, ranging from trios to quintets, which incorporated chamber music. After at least twelve years of teaching guitar to several children and adults, I firmly believe that students should have hands-on experience with the instrument from their very first lesson, and at the same time be introduced to music theory. I follow a method that emphasizes the development of critical basics in my students to enable them to comprehend music and the instrument through theory and solfeggio, utilizing scores instead of tablatures. Depending on the preferences of the student, we can explore a diverse range of repertoires, encompassing classical and folk genres, among others. Throughout my teaching career, I have worked effectively and efficiently with learners of all ages and experience levels, from complete novices to those readying themselves for university-level assessments (such as Grade 8 ABRSM). I am proficient in English, German, and Greek, and possess a rudimentary understanding of French. My music studio is located in Saint Gilles, Brussels, and is open to all interested learners. Thank you very much, Marianna

“ Oscar is an incredibly talented musician who, in addition to his musical prowess, has shown a real talent for teaching. When I approached Oscar to deepen my understanding of music theory, I was pleasantly surprised by his well thought-through approach and I decided that I wanted to make it a regular thing. He organises lessons in a logical flow, uses appropriate practical materials to 'make sense of everything' and always has some food for thought for in-between lessons time. Very happy with my classes. Thanks Oscar! ”

“ Gaiane is a very engaging and holds the attention in discussion, she is effective and an excellent communicator, she organises her schedule to meet our objectives, highly knowledgeable, in short, she has all the qualities of a great teacher. ”
