I am an Irish guy of 26 years old, who studied mathematics and philosophy at University. I have also had 5 pieces published, that were written for a theatre company in Ireland who commissioned me. So I have a very high level of English - I love reading and I write a lot, regularly.

My experience teaching English is also growing by the week; at the moment I am giving three English classes. One is to two sisters, of 9 and 4 years old, another is to a 32 year old architect who wants to hone his skills before entering a competition to go to America, and the other is to a married couple, ages 28 and 30, who work as doctors and want to improve their English.

The class will be very flexible. You tell me what you want, and I will build a class that suits your desires and needs. I am a friendly and relaxed person, who loves teaching and learning, who is ready to share that with you.

About Me

I'm a 26 year old Irish guy who has been crazy about music since the age of 4, when our teacher gave us a recorder. I have been involved in many music projects and gigs and sessions of wildly varying nature over the years - alto sax in a neo-jazzy-punk band in Ireland, keyboard player for a gospel choir, flute in a Japanese jazz quintet in Matsumoto, alto sax again and singing in Berlin in a psychedelic stoner rock band, years and years of traditional Irish music with a band called Cogar in my hometown of Ireland, years of accompanying singers in secondary school on the piano for all sorts of competitions and shows and etc, oh and I used to have a regular Saturday evening piano gig in a local hotel for about 2 years that was amazing. I love music very much, and it has always been, above all, a way to express myself, and ideally with friends. If I can share that same love with you for music, I'd be very happy.

Education

Studied mathematics and philosophy for two years in Trinity College Dublin before deciding it wasn't for me. Had a nice time though, which is all that really matters. :)

Je suis retourné en Irlande, mais donne toujours des cours par webcam. Ça marche bien, et j'aime toujours autant donné des cours. Ça fait cinq ans d'expèrience, des tonnes d'avis positifs sur pleins de site, et envie de continuer à aider les gens avec leur découvertes musicales :)

I have done all of my piano grades in Ireland, up to grade 8, which took ten years of piano lessons. I have lots of experience both teaching and performing, and play several other instruments as well (flute, tin whistle, alto saxophone, guitar, djembe, singing, anything at all). If you like singing, if you want to try one of your pieces with flute accompaniment from me, if you want to learn composition skills, if you want to learn jazz, pop, classical, loads of music theory or only the minimum of music theory... It's up to you! Write to me and tell me what you want to learn, and I'll tell you if we can do it. :) we can do everything in English or in French (I have one class in French and one class in English at the moment), and we can do it in my place or in yours.

I have just finished my master's degree in Language Sciences at the Lumière Lyon 2 University, in the Language Sciences course (validated with an average of 18).

I did my BA in Comparative Linguistics and Literature, and Applied Foreign Languages at Galatasaray University, the only French-speaking university in Turkey (Mention very well, validation of the university in 5th position).

I worked for two years (2017--2019) in a language center (FLE course and English course). I did internships in public high schools in order to obtain my pedagogical training.

I did all my education in English (English school + English high school). Thus, I have been giving English lessons to students of all ages since 2010. Recently, I have prepared students for the PIPPLET and TOEIC exams. Since 2019, I have students from CM1 to 1ère that I follow and to whom I give additional lessons as tutoring.

I also learn Turkish to French people since I live in Lyon.
