Whether you are a beginner or not, I offer guitar lessons adapted to your level and your desires. My goal is to help you progress quickly, methodically, while having fun playing.

I am a passionate teacher, guitarist for almost 15 years, in all styles (Rock, Metal, Pop, Funk, Shred...), specializing in the composition of pieces but also improvisation techniques.

The lessons I offer are personalized and based on your musical tastes in order to explore guitar playing techniques.

We'll work together on the pieces you love, while developing your technique and understanding of music.

We will discuss different musical styles (rock, pop, blues, folk, etc.) and different playing techniques (chords, arpeggios, rhythm, solo, alternate picking, sweep picking etc.). I will also give you advice to improve your posture and hand placement, in order to play in the best possible conditions.

Classes take place at my home or at your home, depending on your preferences. I am flexible on schedules and I adapt to your availability.

If you are motivated and want to progress quickly on the guitar, do not hesitate to contact me. I will be delighted to meet you and support you in your musical learning!

About Me
I am a passionate and experienced guitarist, with over 15 years of experience in music. I started playing guitar at the age of 14 and quickly fell in love with the instrument. Since then, I have explored different musical styles, ranging from rock to blues through Shred and improvisation techniques

What drives me about the guitar is the possibility of creating emotions through music. I like to experiment with sounds and melodies, finding new ways to express myself through my instrument.

Subsequently, I broadened my musical spectrum by learning singing and piano.

My musical journey included taking guitar lessons from renowned teachers, which allowed me to develop my technical skills and understanding of music.
Education
Sciences Po Lyon / Master 2 Public Affairs

In music, I followed Richard Daudé's lessons for many years, in order to give myself sufficient technical and theoretical knowledge to understand improvisation.

Whether you are an adult or younger, did you know that with the proper methods, follow-up and advice, you can reach in 2 years the equivalent of what is achieved in 10 years in music school? The passion and pleasure of playing will quickly make you forget the minimum 1h30 of daily practice necessary for this beautiful and pleasant feat. This is the challenge I set myself by offering you these courses.

Practicing classical guitar for 27 years, graduated from the National Conservatory of Limoges, I teach guitar (beginner to advanced levels).

My method is distinguished by a perfect combination of high standards and attention paid to the pleasure of playing.

Passionate about music theory (rhythms, musical notations and other aspects that seem tedious to many), I know how to transmit this taste for musical technique.

The pleasure of play develops when you feel your progress, and these come with regular work. I therefore ask for attendance and regularity of at least 1 hour of practice per day. Depending on the students, the frequency of lessons can be bi-weekly or bi-monthly, and will be defined together, while remaining flexible.

I can also advise you on the purchase of a classical guitar.

Note: the practice of the classical guitar requires short nails on the left hand, and nails overflowing just beyond the tip of the finger, on the right hand, at all times. This allows an inimitable sound quality.

References on request

Follow up by email/phone as needed between lessons.

Examples of pieces you will be able to play after a year: works by Bach, Giuliani, Fernando Sor, Carcassi, Aguado, Jeux Interdits, baroque flamenco, romantic works

Fabien
Hello,

My name is Fabien. I have been the director of the ISSÉTYS music school, located in Lyon 6 for 17 years.

I'm also a guitar teacher. My expertise is immense, fueled by extensive experience as a professional musician in my younger years. An expertise rich in theoretical and practical knowledge, the origins of which lie in my third-year studies in musicology, my DEM (Master of Music Studies), and my gold medal in jazz guitar and contemporary music.

I've been teaching since I was 20. I'm 52 now. I have over 16,000 hours of teaching experience under my belt!

Passionate and expert, teacher (L3 in educational sciences), I teach children, teenagers and adults. I practice active pedagogies (learning by doing) and the best way to learn music is to share it.

In more detail, I teach the styles Blues, Rock, Metal, Jazz, Funk, Classical, Bossa, Picking & Folk, but above all I teach the guitar, its functioning, its tips, its methodologies.

I also teach harmony, arranging and composition and improvisation.

My goal is to open the path of discovery to the learner by awakening their curiosity, their interest and to reinforce the acquired knowledge at expert and professional levels. I encourage all my students, I tell them that it is possible to try, to experiment, to make mistakes, but the most important thing is that they can flourish by having fun, by putting things into perspective, without putting too much pressure on themselves, by playing and that is the most important thing. I ask a lot of students through our common involvement, because I simply believe in their ability to appreciate, get involved, evolve and learn to play music.

Ideal for all ages who want to learn to play chords on guitar or piano. I also enjoy teaching the art of music writing.

I teach music in the most engaging way possible: by learning your favorite songs. You'll learn the basics of simple chords, how to use them in songs you already know, and then learn how to play them.
Of course, there will be some theory, but we will rely more on the ear than on tedious scores!

I teach in English, so it's a plus if you need help with the language or English phrases!

I also teach you how to create your own compositions on guitar and piano, and how to make them more original with interesting chord changes. And, of course, I can also teach you how to write songs that sound good in English.

Ideal for beginners or those looking to get started in composing pop, indie or soul music.

I'm a British singer-songwriter and producer based in New York City. I've written over 100 songs and perform regularly in New York City. In 2023, I was selected for a three-month artist residency in Memphis, Tennessee, where I composed a wide range of new material, from dark, introspective folk to energetic indie rock.
