About Me

As the first instrument I have ever picked up, the guitar has been my companion since the age of nine. Classical trained for a couple of years I quickly fell in love with it and studied it everyday ever since developing my repertoire focusing on blues/soul/funk and R&B.

As a music producer by trade the guitar has also always been the starting point for many ideas and track concepts. Allowing me to easily find a chord progression, melody or just accompanying other musicians with their ideas.

As your guitar teacher I will focus on what you want to learn and the areas that you want to develop if you're an advanced player. By establishing your level in the first lesson we can then target the specific subjects that you want to focus on. Finger-picking, chords and its variants, scales, lead guitar, rhythm guitar, composition or music theory.

Education

Classically trained in Conservatório de Música, Porto, Portugal for 3 years and a Music Production and Audio Engineering course from Point Blank Music School in London.

Experience / Qualifications

15 years of experience playing guitar (Portugal/London) and two years of private tutoring in London in my own studio. 4 years of experience as a session guitarist for various musical projects.

From a very young age I had a passion for rhythm, so naturally, percussion was my choice. I've been studying percussion and music theory for over 15 years now, and I would like to share my knowledge with whoever shares this passion.

My class is based on various but well structured classical methods, however Pop and modern music remains an important aspect of the learning process, so the various wishes and aspects of guitar playing can be achieved by beginners and advanced students. A vast well catered repertoire and personalized arrangements will be provided for each student individually.

Many groups projects with guitars as well as other music instruments were very successfully realized over the years, and many of my students have also succeeded in competitions and important (solo) performances.
