*Playing and instrument is a skill set but music is a human instinct*
My name is Sara and Ive been playing the guitar for almost 18 years now. I specialize in electric guitar and Id love to help you out on your musical journey.
I teach electric guitar (as well as acoustic/ and classical on a basic entry level) and music theory (basic and jazz/pop music theory)
I have found my passion in teaching music and want to help out anyone who is just starting with guitar/music or wants to expand their musical horizon a bit further.
Together we can learn and discover the expanded world of the electric guitar and learn to play your favourite songs and learn new techniques.
As pretty much every genre out there uses the guitar in a different way, learning the guitar can be a very rewarding experience for any music lover.
* For any topic that we may work on I provide handwritten material and weekly notes as well as a monthly goal plan for each student.
My goal for every lesson is not perfection but that the student leaves the lesson feeling capable, inspired and every time more curious about music. *
Please note: for time being all lessons are taught in English (!)

About Me
*Playing and instrument is a skill set but music is a human instinct*
My name is Sara and Ive been playing the guitar since I was 6 years old.
Education:
My first encounter with the guitar was at a local music school in my home town, where I studied basic level classical guitar and music theory.
Sometime during those years, Ive discovered a passion for the electric guitar specifically and proceeded with my musical studies as a jazz guitar major at the Conservatory for Music and Ballet (KGBL) in Ljubljana, Slovenia.
After finishing my studies in Ljubljana I have continued to study music at the Prins Claus Conservatory in Groningen, the Netherlads, where I got my BA degree in jazz guitar in 2025.
Throughout my studies I have also attended various masterclasses and music clinics in different countries as well. I have also been a part of different projects that differentiated in style and genre - from blues bands to avant-garde performances.
What I play and why I teach:
- Ever since I was in highschool, Ive always found myself tutoring or explaining music related concepts to fellow students or anyone who was interested in anything music related and on the weekends, Id be helping out my little brother with his music school homework as well.
It soon became a routine, and as I tutored and helped out more, the more Id want to excel in what I did. It made me passionate not only about teaching itself, but it gave me motivation to try and be the best musician and guitar player as I can be, to be able to share my knowledge and inspire others with it.
I have figured out quickly that sharing and exploring musical concepts together with others is a crucial part of truly becoming the musician I always aspired to be.
I have found teaching to be one of the greatest joys of life. -
- My primary focus during my education has been mastering the skill and flexibility of the electric guitar (as well as teaching private lessons).
Currently I am concentrating in expanding my knowledge of the guitar and focusing on rhythm guitar and groove as my primary interest as well as funk, fusion, jazz and blues music. -

Experience / Qualifications
Guitar:
My approach is heavily focused on individual student's goals and needs: If you are just starting to play the instrument, for instance, we will focus on learning the basic technique (left and right hand, posture, pick or no pick, amplifiers etc..),
depending on the genre and style, we might start with some technical exercises and get to know the instrument in depth, or we can dive straight into learning to play a full song.
If you are intermediate or advanced player already, we will focus on refining your already existing knowledge and find improvements to work on. Or, we can focus on specific themes, for instance improvisation, transcribing, and so on.
For any topic that we may work on I provide handwritten material and weekly notes as well as a monthly goal plan for each student.
My goal for every lesson is not perfection but that the student leaves the lesson feeling capable, inspired and every time more curious about music.
I have taught students who not only do music as a hobby, but also students with serious career plans in music.
I am open to various styles of playing guitar (jazz, blues, funk, rnb, fingerstyle, free improvisation and other popular genres) to all levels.
Qualifications:
Basic pedagogy courses completed during Bachelors studies / 4 years of professional private tutoring experience.
Music theory:
I also enjoy music theory very much and as I too struggled with grasping the concept when I was younger I am now more than happy to be able to present the world of music theory to anyone who is interested.
We can begin with the basics that can help you improve on your instrument or we can dive deeper into more advanced fields of jazz theory.
During my bachelor studies I have partaken in multiple music theory courses and have been tutoring music theory to music students in preparations for exams or entrance exams.
Whether you would like to learn music theory for practicality or you have an exam soon and would like to revise/learn more, I am more than happy to help you out on your music theory journey.
