Flute Lessons Beginners

After, we'll begin by learning to repeat melodies, playing them by ear and by copying rhythmic patterns to develop a sense of rhythm and musicality. Along the way you learn to read music notes and simple music theory, so you can quickly play fun songs from sheet music!

A typical lesson may consist of working through scales, etudes, and repertoire. Incorporating the development of technique, breathing, articulation, embouchure development. I have extensive experience as a performing musician and I am happy to help you with a solo repertoire in various styles and of course orchestral and chamber music parts. Learn to play legato, staccato, from pianissimo to fortissimo with a bright and warm sound, music comprehension, rhythm study, and overall musicianship.

I have 15 years experience of playing flute and as well experience with teaching children. In 2016 I finished my musical education for flute with the "AUDIT OF ART", which also includes a advanced knowledge of music theory, and since then I give private lessons. I also play guitar and flute.

I am 21 years old and I am currently a flute student at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. I finished my studies in conservatories in France and obtained a license in music and musicology at the Sorbonne (Paris IV).
I offer personalized lessons meeting the desires and ambitions of everyone, from the simple beginner to the confirmed musician.
For the flute lessons, I offer exercises for sound, technique, adapted pieces. During music theory lessons, I can give tips for learning to read keys, rhythms, and offer dictations. The composition and conducting training that I started in 1999 enabled me to gain experience in piano. I learned bass guitar and ukulele completely on stage. I have played instruments in many genres (rock, pop, jazz) professionally for years. I teach piano with a book I wrote myself. With this book I wrote especially for children, children learn to read notes and play the piano with solid foundations. I have prepared more than 300 students for the ABRSM flute and piano exams. I am a professional recorder and flute player with a passion for both early and contemporary music, offering lessons on the recorder, flute, piano, and music theory in the Amsterdam area and online.

I graduated with a Master's in recording at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam Cum Laude, with a scholarship from The Countess of Munster Musical Trust. Previously, I graduated from the Royal College of Music London with a First-Class Joint Honours Bachelor’s degree in Flute and Recorder. In 2021 I was a finalist for the Moeck/SRP recorder competition as part of the London Early Music Festival.

I am an encouraging and dedicated teacher who believes that effective practice, rather than talent, is at the heart of any musical development.
