English conversation practice with a native speaker: improve your English through conversation
From 49.99 C$ /h
I am an American student living and studying in Brussels. My teaching methods are based largely on my own experiences studying French, German and Japanese, combined with careful consideration of the interests and learning style of the student.
The primary and most important motivation in language learning is the desire to understand and take part in another culture. I therefore try to understand why my students would like to learn English, and what aspects of English-speaking culture interest them, whether it be films, literature, music, etc.
Our lessons will be primarily conversations entirely in English (or as much as possible) with corrections when needed. Using your current English level and the kinds of mistakes you make as a guide, we can look at grammar, pronunciation, and other topics to improve your level.
If desired, we can prepare topics and resources ahead of class time, such as articles, movies, books, etc. to give us a theme for the conversation.

About Me
I am always curious to learn about my students. I believe that language learning is a powerful way to understand the other people we share this planet with through cultural exchange. I try to therefore create a non-judgemental and relaxed learning environment where we discuss your interests and passions.
For my part, I am a college student in Brussels, Belgium, where I've been living for the past three years. I study music and am especially interested in Jazz, Classical, Indian, Arabic and Flamenco music. Outside of music I also enjoy reading about ancient History, running, and studying languages.

Education
I graduated from Newton North High School in 2018. After studying Philosophy briefly at Skidmore College, I am now pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Jazz Guitar from the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel.
Experience / Qualifications
I became interested in teaching English after helping some of my friends learn here in Brussels. Additionally, my own experience studying languages has shaped my interest. I currently speak French at a C1 level, German B2, and Japanese JLPT4.
