Hello! My name is Deanna, I am an English Native speaker that is of mixed heritage (Half Chinese, Half English). I speak Cantonese as my second language and basic mandarin. I am a recent graduate that previously studied Professional Musicianship at the British and Irish Modern Music Institute. Then went on to complete the 120 hour TEFL certificate.

I offer English lessons to both adults and children aged 3+. I was previously a primary school English teacher teaching in Hangzhou last year, mainly focusing on teaching phonics and pronunciation. Then, came to Hong Kong last July and now teach group English classes for a company as well as my own private students.

My lessons always cater to each individual student’s needs, where I will create a tailored lesson plan around what my students are looking to achieve or follow the material that is provided to me. Whether you are a student simply looking to polish up and improve your speaking/listening skills with a Native speaker or you would like your child to focus on learning phonics, English grammar, Exam prep etc.

My aim is to provide guidance and develop each of my student's English skills so that they may achieve their personal full potential. Whilst encouraging my students to feel more confident in using their English on a day to day basis. I am a patient, fun-loving and motivating teacher that firmly believes each student should always enjoy our lessons, learn at their own pace and get the most out of our lessons together.

For my younger students (ages 3-5) I would suggest group class lessons of 2+ students, in which we would incorporate more games and activities so that the students can work together and help one another. Whereas, for my students (ages 6+) I would recommend 1-1 lessons as each student has their own learning progress, thus it is beneficial to have an individual program designed specifically for each individual student.

About Me

Hello Everyone! My name is Deanna, I am Half Chinese, Half English, born and raised in the Uk. I speak English, Cantonese, and basic Mandarin. I am an accomplished pianist having played for 16 years and started teaching at the age of 17. I am able to teach ABRSM grade syllabus or students looking to learn for fun.
