📚 What Students Will Learn: In this interdisciplinary course, students will gain a foundational and critical understanding of how individuals think, behave, and relate to one another within cultural and societal frameworks. Drawing on four core disciplines—Gender Studies, Sociology, Anthropology, and Psychology—this course encourages students to explore the complexities of human identity, interaction, and social structure. By the end of the course, students will understand Core Concepts and Theories of any one of the subjects they have chosen to understand and learn: Learn key ideas from gender theory (e.g., gender performativity, intersectionality) Explore sociological perspectives on class, race, norms, and deviance Study anthropological approaches to culture, rituals, kinship, and belief systems Examine psychological theories of behavior, emotion, personality, and cognition

I am eager to help young people feel confident when writing sociology essays. I will place an emphasis on deconstructing the questions students are given by encouraging them to reword the question to offer a different perspective on it. In addition, the main aim of a sociology essay is to convince the reader more and more of the argument you have claimed in the introduction. I want to help students do this by helping them follow the PEAL structure, i.e. Point, Evidence, Analysis, Link back to question. I have found this a very effective and coherent way of structuring an essay. I have studied Sociology for 7 years now, at AS/A Level, Undergraduate Level and now at MSc level at LSE. I was awarded First-Class Honours in my undergraduate as well as 'Best Dissertation of the year' by the School of Humanities and Social Sciences. First, they will learn and think about how and why saving money: - short-term and long-term goals they can save for (e.g. a toy, a trip, college education). - how to create a budget and track their spending. - Compound interest and the impact of starting to save early. How to spend money wisely: - difference between needs and wants. - how to compare prices and make informed purchasing decisions. - learn what is impulse buying and method to take the time to think before spending. How to managing money: - Keeping track of spending and creating a budget - Different types of bank accounts, type of money and currencies - learn what are credits, how they work and how it can impact their finances in the future. This class is made for kids, so it'll include use games, puzzles, and interactive activities to help them understand the concepts while having fun.
