Private English lessons in Toulon: Support, conversation, business English and exam preparation (Cambridge University CELTA, C2)
From 66 C$ /h
I'm Nicolas, a freelance English teacher based in Toulon (Mourillon). I lived abroad for 25 years (England, Ireland, Scotland, Jersey, Greece, Italy) and hold CELTA (Level 5), Cambridge C2 Proficiency, a Business English Diploma, and a Tourism English Diploma (French-British Chamber of Commerce in Paris). I've taught in business schools (ESI Business School, YNOV, Keyce Academy) and training organizations.
My lessons are 100% tailored to your needs. We start with your level and your goals, and we work on what matters to you:
Conversation: speaking more easily, with more confidence, in concrete situations
Vocabulary and grammar: filling in the gaps, without boring lectures
Business English: meetings, emails, presentations, interviews, negotiation
English for tourism: welcoming and informing foreign clients
Pronunciation and listening comprehension: a real accent with authentic materials
Exam preparation (Cambridge, TOEIC, etc.)
The method is simple: plenty of oral practice, clear and supportive feedback, and materials tailored to your interests. Whether you're a beginner or already comfortable, you progress at your own pace.
Face-to-face lessons in Toulon, at your home in the surrounding area, or via video call.

About Me
Hi, my name is Nicolas, I am 54 years old and I am an independent English trainer in Toulon, in the Mourillon district.
My relationship with English is first and foremost a life story. I spent 25 years abroad, in England, Ireland, Scotland, Jersey, Greece, and Italy. I didn't learn it from a textbook; I lived it—at work, in the pub, through bureaucratic hassles as well as good times. So I know exactly what the obstacles are when learning a language as a French speaker, because I've been there myself.
I've been teaching for years, in business schools, training organizations, and companies. I also have a solid trainer certification (Cambridge University CELTA), but what my students remember most is that it's nothing like school. No lectures, no judgment: we talk, I provide constructive feedback, and we move forward.
What I like about a student is their enthusiasm, regardless of their level. Whether it's a beginner who's too scared to speak, a professional who has to present in English next Monday, a student preparing for an exam, or someone passionate about travel or TV series, we build the course around you, your daily life and your goals, not around a fixed program.
My method can be summed up in three ideas:
Talk a lot, right from the first lesson, even if with few words
Correct without stressing: mistakes are part of learning
Work on concrete things: your emails, your meetings, your trips, your interests
The first lesson is for getting to know each other and defining your needs together. If we click, we'll continue. If not, no problem.
See you soon !
